Yeah, the rule is broken if that causes a guy to get ejected. He tried to lead with the shoulder but you can't avoid the fact that your head will be in the way.
It's a really tricky situation. I completely agree that he shouldn't have been ejected. But adding the subjectivity of determining intent could be even more of a disaster.

Tulane recovers the onside kick. Have the ball with 2 min to play at midfield, down 5 with a chance foi the miracle comeback

They need a penalty like spearing or something - when a guy openly headhunts, not that type of instant action or a hit caused by a mocement in the last second.

Bama’s O-line is excellent as usual — pushed the pile 3 or 4 yards for the first down.

And nice job by Young extending the play and finding the wide open WR for the TD.

Damn Tulane was down 37-14 at the half and made it 40-35 with the ball before getting stopped a yard short of the first on 4th and 13 with two mins left

Alabama LT Evan Neal is listed at 6-7, 351. I’ll take the over. Dude is huge.

Nice job by Miami’s D stiffening up in the red zone, but they’re down 10-0 early and looking overmatched in the trenches.

Miami S Bubba Bolden ejected for targeting. Easy call for the officials.

Bama-Miami looking like the teachers vs. students rugby game in The Meaning of Life. Bama up 17-0 with the ball in Miami territory after one of the more violent (but clean) plays you’ll ever see.

Edit: Miami’s D comes up big, but Bama hits a 51-yard FG to push the lead to 20-0.

And another TD for Bama, capping a 7-play, 74-yard drive. 27-0.

Glad to see Penn State get the win. I was surprised they had Stout handling the place kicking duties. They have the #1 placekicker from last year's class Sander Sahaydak. Or even Jake Pinegar for that matter.

Defensive coordinator Brent Pry dialed it up, and new OC Mike Yurcich made some critical and effective adjustments in the second half. One thing is certain: Brandon Smith and Jauquin Brisker are the real deal. And Ellis Brooks was playing a great game until the questionable targeting call.

Noah Cain, who was injured on the first play of last season's disastrous start and missed the entire season, returned and showed in the second half why he is a very promising runner. I was surprised we did not see any of Devyn Ford or Keyvone Lee - both very capable runners, given that a lot of pre-season talk had speculated about an expected run-corps-by-committee.

And I believe Jahan Dotson may have struck fear in most B1G defensive backfields minds.

But most of all, given the doubts that understandably may have crept into Sea Clifford's mind given last year's debacle, I think he got his feet under him against a very good Whiskey defense. This game likely gave him a nice shot of confidence going forward.

What’s the rule on hitting the punt returner? Miami gets flagged for 15 there, but the Bama returner didn’t call for a fair catch or attempt to make a play on the ball. Bama is starting at the 27 instead of the 1.

Should be Bama ball here, but man, I almost feel bad for Miami. They can’t buy a break.

Edit: And it’s overturned. Nothing like having to put away the turnover chain when you’re already getting your ass kicked.

Walking through that tunnel on a game day was such an amazing experience. And that was before any of this "good" at football stuff and the Enter Sandman entrance. Thought about you all and wondered if he was there last night. Hope he had an absolute blast.
Wait, Nap, did you play at Vajenyatek?

I spent my youth and early teen years growing up just down the road in Roanoke. My Dad would hustle my brother and me up to Blacksburg as often as we could. I also remember games between VPI and VMI played in Roanoke's Victory Stadium back in the 60's. One of my old girlfriends was a Hokie cheerleader. Great times.

Wait UConn lost to Holy Cross? And it wasn’t even that close? Why are they still FBS?
Our first FBS win in 19 years. Against Army, who ran the table in the reverse direction that year. Which is what I think the Huskies will do as well.
