What a brutal slate. Unless my eyes are failing me, not one game featuring two ranked teams. And the most interesting game not until 10 PM EDT. If there’s anything good that comes out of next years brave new world, maybe it’s fewer of these kind of weekends.

We're still really in non conference, so probably not.

idk, I think LSU/State, Minny/UNC, Washington/MSU, Tenn/UF, Pitt/WVU are all interesting. And, of course, what makes college football so magical is that with the sheer number of games, something is going to go sideways for somebody.

Not a good early slate

Late games look good
(Tenn Florida, BYU Hogs)

And go Owls!

Big game for SU. I know Purdue isn't anywhere near an elite team, but a road win over a solid Big 10 team (9 wins in 2021, 8 wins in 2022) would be enormous for them.

Florida is awful, that game won't be entertaining at all. Pitt v WVU is always a good slugfest, they despise one another.
WVU and Pitt will be a pillow fight, neither team is any good. With that being said, I'll still be there on Saturday night!

CU-CSU as game of the week? Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably turn it on and watch a bit of the first half as I drift off to sleep, but I expect the Buffs to manhandle the Rams.

My GOTW pick would be Washington at Michigan State. The Spartans handled their first two opponents easily and will be fired up to change the subject from their former coach to the guys who are still in that locker room. They might not have the talent to beat UW, but they’ll bring their A-game.

Fair point, as a pure matchup, for fairly serious CFB fans, it’s a better on paper match up. But Prime is by far the story of the year to this point. And in a slate this weak, I absolutely think it’s the most interesting game. At least to me(outside of Notre Dame, but that’s my thing. Nobody who doesn’t follow them gives a damn about their scrimmage, of course).

BYU Arkansas is the game of the week, folks.

Or perhaps the academic bowl in Durham

Don’t be surprised if CSU hangs in there for a while. They are making a QB change to a pretty talented red-shirt freshman (Fowler-Nicolosi) who can really sling it and the CSU WR room has some talent.

I had the same exact thought. Thankfully these types of weekends only happen about once a year. Hopefully this is that weekend for 2023. Also when was the last time Kansas was favored by 28 in football????

The coverage and free publicity Colorado has got on ESPN the last two days is crazy. Not just GameDay today, but First Take and Pat McAfee all did their shows from there yesterday. Even The Rock has been showing up.

Somebody here said the media would be Colorado’s best recruiter and they were right.

I think the Fox clowns are there too.

FSU’s QB Jordan Travis might have just broken his wrist or shoulder

Edit: well he has his helmet back on so maybe it was nothing? It looked bad

Wisconsin down 14-7 to Georgia Southern in the 3rd, and it really could be a lot worse. GSU has three INTs, a missed FG and a turnover on downs all in Badger territory.

A lot of awful performances - wow. Ohio beating Iowa State (not the Buckeyes, the other Ohio), Baylor Barkley leading a team that lost to a D2 iirc program, Ga Southern leading Wisconsin, Old Dominion dominating Wake, Illinois with three! turnovers yet only down 16-7 to Penn State.

The Noles are playing a little bit like shit but BC looks like they don’t practice. The amount of pre snap penalties is concerning.

Iowa State looks like they’d rather be anywhere else on earth than playing this game.

However Iowa State just kicked a FG I think was good they said wasn’t and didn’t review it.

Going for 2 and then not kicking the FG now makes no sense. Although they get the TD. Weird game.

95 yds in 2 mins against FSU is impressive.

Going for 2 made a ton of sense despite the announcers continuing to harp on it. Not kicking the fg here made no sense, but hey it worked for BC
