Yeah, that flight was noted yesterday on some JMU boards--leaving Lynchburg and landing 15 minutes later near JMU, then leaving for Worcester. Also on the flight is the head of JMU's NIL collective.
I guess if I (HC grad) has to lose him, glad it's to my alumna daughter's school. Someone else reported the plane was going to stop on the way back in New Brunswick (where another candidate works, the DC who used to be the head coach of Maine), but that doesn't make any sense. Gotta think it's Chesney's job.
Echoing... first class leader of men. Just a winner all around, and does it with integrity. We hate to lose him; he's a star for sure. Enjoy your time with him.

To add onto others praise of him, Ive hung out with him socially a couple of times, and he's just a good guy, on a human level. Fun, charismatic/magnetic, and humble (at least, he was back in the summer of 2019).
Me too. The way he disrespected Colorado when they announced they were leaving the Pac12 ("do you remember them winning anything?") and then when they played each other this year ("they're fighting for clicks, we're fighting for wins") was just perfect, especially when you back it up on the field. Damn I'm sad about the Pac 12.
Wonder if that's the record for "falling dominos" triggered by a coach retiring/moving to the NFL, etc.; i.e. 3 head coaches move on to somewhere else?
I thought everyone has been assuming that Sherrone Moore will get the job when Harbaugh leaves. Am I wrong?
Speculation I saw is that he was very unhappy at UCLA and really really hates recruiting.
He only had 10 recruits in this years class, hates recruiting, hates dealing with NIL, and very openly was trying to get back to the NFL which he's hoping a year at OSU will be enough as a proof of concept. He's escaping a decaying program of his own doing because UCLA's AD couldn't get the money to fire him. Now UCLA has basically no HC options since it's February. The fans couldn't be happier to see him gone though. Completely messy situation on all sides.

Throw into the mix BC's athletic director (two AD's ago), Martin Jarmond; is the one who hired Hafley, then took the AD job at UCLA. I'm not getting the feeling Jarmond is going to be at UCLA very much longer, either. Plus Day was at BC as well, twice.
