Yup correct. Thought Wilder was already fired, but we may find this out tomorrow.Old Dominion is not open.
Buyout drops if Wilder is let go tomorrow.
I wouldn't mind seeing James Franklin leave the Big 10 East. He's been far more successful and resilient than I thought he would be. He will be expensive for FSU, but I could see him wanting to get away from the competitive Big 10 East division. This FSU thing is getting annoying, hopefully it ends up good.
Willie Taggart and Shane Beamer or 2 names on most lists.
Franklin's about to get a payraise/extension from Penn State. He's only leaving for USC, if any program, at this time.I wouldn't mind seeing James Franklin leave the Big 10 East. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/28212034/chris-petersen-steps-washington-jimmy-lake-named-head-coachWashington coach Chris Petersen will step down after the Huskies' bowl game and be replaced by defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake, the school announced Monday.
As part of the shocking announcement, the school said Petersen will transition into a "leadership advisory role" within the athletic department.
Twitter seems to think he's going to USC or some other job that isn't technically available yet.Wow. Just burned out, it seems? Regardless, DC Jimmy Lake is taking over.
He’s just burnt out. He is an odd duck.Twitter seems to think he's going to USC or some other job that isn't technically available yet.
Doubtful.Twitter seems to think he's going to USC or some other job that isn't technically available yet.
https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/chris-petersen-steps-down-jimmy-lake-named-uw-huskies-head-football-coach/A UW spokesperson confirmed to The Seattle Times that, because Petersen has agreed to remain with the program, he will not owe the university a buyout figure at the time of his resignation.
Yeah, one of the best coaches in the game, but a very odd duck. I'm actually shocked more coaches don't walk away like thisHe’s just burnt out. He is an odd duck.
https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/huskies-chris-petersen-is-the-latest-big-name-college-coach-under-60-to-resign-at-top-of-profession/But Petersen always tried to coach in a more humane manner than those in the profession who famously slept in the office and ignored all other aspects of their lives. His outlook was honed by his young son’s battle with pediatric cancer, which imbued him with a strong sense of perspective that there was more to life than wins and losses.
Petersen always insisted that his assistant coaches go home at dark. He wanted them to have balance, too. And he was facing an excruciating decision on the future of an assistant coach he loves and admires in beleaguered Husky offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan – who played quarterback for Petersen at Boise State
They've also met with Willie Fritz and Mike Leach.
At the root of Petersen’s shocking resignation, announced Monday, were two interrelated epiphanies on his part. One was that he had lost an essential passion for the job, exemplified by the joylessness he felt during the Rose Bowl last season.
“You work your whole life to get there,” he mused during a news conference Tuesday. “And I didn’t really appreciate the week. I didn’t appreciate the game like I need to, as a kid growing up looking at that game. And I think that was one of the things that really hit me loud and clear.”
https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/departing-uw-coach-chris-petersen-eager-to-recharge-and-i-dont-want-it-to-be-on-the-football-field/He cited a quote he heard last fall from “an Eastern philosopher” (a Google search revealed it to be Confucious, the Heisman Trophy winner of Eastern philosophers). The words resonated deeply:
A man has two lives to live, and the second one begins when he realizes he only has one.
Missouri hires Jim McElwain.

I was duped by a fake account.Who tweeted this? They clearly were wrong.
They’re made for one another. Curious what the first ncaa violation will be,Lane Kiffin looks like he will choose Ole Miss over Arkansas.
My PSU fan friends will hell him pack. They don’t like that dude.Rumor is that Penn State OC Ricky Rahne will be the coach at Old Dominion.
Quite a typo.My PSU fan friends will hell him pack. They don’t like that dude.
But PSU fans always have seemed so rational. My PSU fan friends will hell him pack. They don’t like that dude.
It’s amazing what a shitshow the Razorbacks’ football program has become. I can’t think of any time in the past 50 years, except maybe during Eli’s tenure, that Ole Miss would’ve been considered a better program than Arkansas. Yet, I don’t think any of us would find fault with Kiffin’s decision now.Lane Kiffin looks like he will choose Ole Miss over Arkansas.
The real story is James Franklin’s best seasons came with Joe Moorhead as his OC. Franklin is a mediocre game manager. He relies on his coordinators to call plays on both sides of the ball. He got lucky with Moorhead, who was head coach at Fordham before coming to PSU. Now he needs to find another OC with skills. But PSU fans always have seemed so rational.
If you believe the Kristen Saban rumors, it makes perfect sense. The Grove has and will always have better scenery than Fayetteville, both of the plant and mammal life forms. Lane wouldnt be the first one to be interested in that aspect. It’s amazing what a shitshow the Razorbacks’ football program has become.
