I'm still pissed Brian Kelly still has a job.Between PSU, MSU, Maryland and OSU, the B1G looks pretty disgusting as a football conference.

Exactly what has MSU football done. Oh that’s right, Paula Lavigne fed a bunch of lies and everyone bought it because it was on the heels of Nassar. What that man did was awful and everyone at MSU that allowed it should pay. That said, MSU football and hoops has nothing to do with it. The shit in that ESPN hit piece was not close to accurate.Between PSU, MSU, Maryland and OSU, the B1G looks pretty disgusting as a football conference.

Forget being fired - if the ESPN story is even remotely accurate, Durkin and his assistants should be charged.
Edit: I mean, fuck me, they have a kid who is obviously suffering from heat stroke and the response of the trainer is to order his teammates to pick him up, support him by the shoulder and “drag his ass across the field” so he could finish the drill. Because the trainer needs to impress upon all of them that literally nothing is more important than finishing the drill.
But that's not the most damming part of this entire fiasco. From the moment he displayed obvious symptoms of a heat stroke, they waited for almost an entire hour before calling 911. For now, we can only speculate on what they were thinking, but if the reporting on the culture is accurate, one can imagine them screaming profanities at McNair as he was convulsing on the ground before it began to sink in that he wasn't faking. And then - like the fraternity assholes at Penn State who allowed one of their pledges to die because they were afraid of the consequences - they tried every option they could think of before calling 911.
We'll eventually find out what happened during the "lost" hour, but putting that aside for now, how are their known actions not the textbook definition of depraved indifference?
TOWSON, Md. (AP) — An independent investigation into the death of University of Maryland football player Jordan McNair has determined that trainers on the scene did not follow proper procedures after he collapsed on the field.
McNair was hospitalized on May 29 after a team workout and died June 13. The family attorney said the cause of death was heatstroke.
Dr. Rod Walters, a former college athletic trainer and sports medicine consultant who led the investigation launched by the school following McNair’s death, said Friday “there was a failure to identify symptoms and aggressively treat it.”
Maryland is a complete joke. I hope no parent every sends their kid there. Ever.DJ Durkin has been reinstated at Maryland.
Much to my astonishment - and I am guessing yours - this was backwards.MDs Board of Regents making sure Pres. Loh doesn’t Col. Jessup the investigation.

Not that this is even a reason to keep him, but the Terps are 10-15 with Durkin in charge. It’s not like they’re keeping some all-time program leader in wins or something. Like I said, not a reason to keep him. I’m shocked that Maryland would even consider bringing him back.Does Durkin have pictures or something. People screw up for a lot less and get canned all the time. This guy oversees a dysfunctional program where a player died and this guy gets reinstated? Wow.
I'm done. D-O-N-E.Maryland is a complete joke. I hope no parent every sends their kid there. Ever.
If there's not a moral turpitude clause in his contract that could be triggered, UM needs to get new counsel. They can’t afford the buyout. The entry into the Big 10 hasn’t been the cash windfall they were expecting.
And incidentally they’ve been playing pretty well under OC/interim HC Matt Canada.
EDIT: I have no connection to the school but I live a few miles away. It’s a disgrace that they’re keeping Durkin.
No, and in fact several players are disputing the story. It seems clear there was some sort of altercation between the starting and backup punter (?) but many are denying it had anything to do with Durkin.Wait, wait, wait. Are the attackers saying they beat up the backup punter because he was picking on other players?
