I'm sure it's mostly in part that this game is being playing in St. Louis and features teams from Colorado and Mass but it's kind of embarrassing, how many people are in the stands 2,000 at most?
2,000 is p.generous I think. Very disappointing crowd, disappointing effort level from BC. Seems after they scored the early goal they took CC for granted. Hopefully Jerry can get them re-grouped.

I think BC needs to score again before the end of the period.

CC goalie has been outstanding, things just not breaking right now for BC who finally seem to be playing their game. Although I can't blame him on the goals, Muse hasn't made a big save all night.

And the penalty call was a killer.

How many open looks have we had saved at this point? Those are normally buried. Starting to get the sense it's just not our night.

Edit: Yeah, it's not our night.

Well, they finally played the way they are capable of playing but it was too late. Hit a lot of posts and ran into a hot goalie.

Oh well, at least you have your basketball team to watch....oh waitt
And it was great to see SUNY-Bumfuck advance. Oh waitt....

Team just didn't have it for whatever reason. I will say, however, that it's a fitting ending to Muse's career. I never thought he was a good goalie, he roped me into this year, and, lo and behold, he lets up a shit ton of easy shortside goals. That doesn't happen to good goalies. Give me his record and whatnot but I just don't think he's a good goalie. BC blocked about 9488 shots in the Frozen Four last year and, you're going to have to trust me on this, it was a pretty even competition between Milner and Muse at the end of last year.

It was pretty bad to see York put in Milner in at the end. It's his last meaningful game, give him the last shift on the ice at the last possible time. You can never get that moment back and, if you know you're going to lose, put all the Seniors you can on the ice because it's likely that it'll never be the same for most of them.

Also, it absolutely killed me to see all of the reactions of the players after the final whistle, especially those that aren't going to the AHL or anything. That is absolutely one of the worst feelings in the world. Few things can ever replicate that feeling. At least they already have two so they know what it feels like but there'll always be the itching in the back of their head.

I was in and out durring the first but saw the 2nd (ugh) then much of the 3rd when I couldn't take it any more

CC played the same game that we do, only with more size, and the AA announcers blowing the canuck brothers on CC, it got unbearable

hey CC was far and away the better team tonight, and thats what happens in one and done tournaments..now I hope Merimack can pull it out

The guy has more National Championships than he does losses in the NCAA tournament and you're bitching that he doesn't drive in enough runs.

You sound pretty dumb.

I actually watched the games so I was actually able to form an opinion on him not based on Globe or Heights articles. Sorry, I like to analyze the game and the players I guess.

He often came up big when he had to, kudos to that and I wished to hell he got to see the game out.

I was at Yale-UMD game (and yesterday's games). Yale had a lot of chances early in first, couldn't put puck in net, then give up SH. Refs were ticky tacky, certainy you'll hear of bitching about them. Yale players get game misconduct minor, UMD scores 4th goal, and then another PP leads to 5 on three, and th fifth goal is scored. Yale kinda hung around, getting it to 5-3 with about 10 left in 3rd, but all that accomplished was having me stick around and miss the UConn hoops game on the TV. And waiting out my kids' eating their italian ices.

The best player I've seen this year played on UMD - Connelly, of course. Put a puck in a mail slot of a hole for the UMD third goal.

EZAC in intact.

Michigan just made its 24th Frozen Four with a 2-1 win over Colorado College. Unbelievable that this program has made 21 consecutive NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament appearances.

Yeah, I get my opinions from the media. That's an assessment that is just bang on the mark.

Yeah, this Yale fan was certainly bitching. In addition to the ridiculous "blow to the head" explusion - which curiously left our player needing stitches above the eye, not theirs - there were several other terrible calls that impacted the game. The turnover that led to the shorthanded goal was off of a trip of a Yale forward the went uncalled, the roughing the goalie call (that led to a PP goal) also came off of a trip, the boarding call that gave UMD a 5-3 (and ultimately a goal) during the major penalty was incredibly weak. That's three goals that were caused by the officials' incompetence, not to mention the the loss of our best player and the frustration the team felt which manifested itself in more penalties. UMD's 2nd goal was the only one of their score's not directly linked to a referee's poor decision.

Yale might not have won a fairly called game - their goalie was great, ours wasn't and we probably lost the game by not getting 2 or 3 goals that we might have in the first - but it would have been nice to have had the opportunity to win instead of last night's travesty.

Should New Hampshire lose tonight, it would be just the 4th time in the last 30 years that the Frozen Four hasn't had at least one team from the eastern US (i.e. Hockey East or ECAC). Winner in bold, runner-up in italics:

2005 - Colorado College, Denver, Minnesota, North Dakota
1992 - Michigan State, Lake Superior, Wisconsin, Michigan
1984 - Bowling Green, Michigan State, Minnesota-Duluth, North Dakota

Well I guess we agree to disagree. The teams have been very good as has the general system, I just don't think he has been. Stepped up when he needed to but I don't like him as a goalie. I never thought he could carry a game by himself and I'm hard pressed to remember a big one where he did. Sorry you got all butthurt over it.

The field is set:

Notre Dame vs. Minnesota Duluth
Michigan vs. North Dakota

It's funny that only in college hockey can two schools from the Eastern Time Zone be considered part of an all-western championship.

Any UMD fans on SoSH?

I am now considering my feelings towards the other three teams. Go [insert mascot of Duluth]!
Bulldogs...just like the team they defeated to make the Frozen Four.

I was near lots of Yale students. While they rightfully had a lot to be angry about, many were dropping f-bombs and the like in the section next door, while ours had a lot of young kids from local youth hockey programs. Filthy mouths on those kids. However, they were clever enough to chant "Lets Go Elis."

re: friday nights clusterfuck

I was with a customer today who is a parent to both a good kid, (BC player on one of the national champ teams) and a 'questionable' kid (played on championship team for Kenmore Kommunity) we both had the same thought about Friday nights clusterfuck

1) the team spent the week listing to Barry Fucking nice hair Melrose and reading the press about them

2) ran into a team that played a BC game AT them, speed, on attack all the time

Former BC goalie John Muse and Providence College defenseman Eric Baier signed tryout contracts with the Portland Pirates (AHL) yesterday.

UMD takes down the Domers in the first game of the Frozen Four by a score of 4-3.

UND is down 1-0 to Michigan after 2, which is surprising to say the least. I hope the game goes to like 5 OTs so the teams tire out for Duluth as I dislike both Michigan and UND a fair amount.

FEEL THE EXCITEMENT OF A FROZEN FOUR THAT'S TWO WEEKS AFTER THE OPENING ROUNDS!

This SDU-Mich game is great right now. Very even game - Michigan up a goal, but SDU clearly playing better in the 2nd. SDU playing a physical game and that should play dividends in the 3rd. UM goalie Shaun Hunwick is standing on his head, with 3-4 HOLY $%!T saves.
