I honestly don't see the problem with this.

The real issue is the overblown PR launch. As the Cubs' press office responded, the audience for this mascot are children under the age of 14. Just about every team in baseball has one, and it's not a big deal.

Though some of those Internet pictures are hysterical.

The mascot wouldn't be a big deal if the Cubs were having a more interesting off-season. Lots of fans are complaining that other teams got shiny new FAs and all they get is....a mascot.

News station used the picture from Deadspin's "Do Something Horrible" to show the world the new mascot.
I laughed watching the video though.
