EPL Week 28, live streaming on a work computer near you.

Watching Everton-Aston Villa. Everton score at 4' off a corner, completely unmarked. Villa look completely disinterested - "going through the motions" is being kind.

Leicester need a goal this half, if it's 0-1 at half time, buses might get parked.
Per some online sources, the bus is parked already. The 2 central mids are set deep and the 4 defenders are sitting right across the top of the 18 yard box.

Sessegnon must have said a really bad word to the assistant. Clattenburg took a long time and seemed to act like he was borderline doing him a favor by showing him only yellow.

The LCFC-WBA color guy just dropped one of my favorite football cliches -- he just said West Brom need to start "asking questions" of Leicester's defense. This is one that needs to be incorporated into American sports commentary, e.g. when a baseball team gets a runner in scoring position you could say they are "asking questions" of the pitcher.

Yedlin with an assist in the Sunderland game that nobody watching would've guessed would be an assist.

First Sunderland goal was actually kicked off by a tackle of his as well.

Mahrez willed them forward in the last 15 minutes and they seemed on the verge of a winner a couple of times. But two crossbars and a Pirlo quality free kick deprived Leicester of two points. Albion seems to be much improved from the last time I saw them play.

Leicester didn't deserve to win against Norwich but snatched a late winner; they thoroughly outplayed West Brom today but couldn't find the third goal. Four points across the last two games is probably the right result.

With Leicester dropping points, if Spurs draw or lose and Arsenal win tomorrow, the winner of the NLD on Saturday would go top. If Spurs win tomorrow, Arsenal can pull level on points but can't go ahead of Spurs after the NLD because Spurs have a sizeable GD advantage.

Sunderand seem to be doing their annual let's-get-our-shit-together-in-the-spring-just-enough-to-avoid-relegation thing.

Edlin seems to be making a good showing. Good to see.

Edit: Yedlin.

What an absolute kick in the balls that game was. Last three Palace fixtures with Sunderland have all been night games and they have all sucked, each in their own special way.

Nothing official--he'll test it out before the game.

Dembele won't play but might be fit for the NLD.

Spurs need to avoid looking past today's game toward the NLD, but other than that it really does seem to be opening up for them to try to step through.

Of the three at the top, they aren't my favorite, but someone better grab the reins in the new few weeks, because I have a feeling that if they get any hope, City aren't quite done yet this season.

If I had to bet anyone, I'd still bet Spurs. They did what needed to be done early, which was survive some goal drought stuff by playing great defense and conceding very little. Now that they've gotten going there's very little to suggest they'll unravel. Injuries always can happen, I suppose, but Spurs have probably played the most consistent football all season.

City blew it over the last month and a half. Injuries definitely didn't help, but City should be several points clear right now.

What if they channel their inner Lee Cattermole?
Aye, but it's not their style. Talking of Sunderland midfielders. Adam Johnson's likely going away for a while.

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/mar/02/adam-johnson-trial-background

this is a bit grisly.

"The prosecution claimed that this message proved that Johnson touched the girl indecently and therefore that he was guilty of sexual activity with a child on this count. He denied it, insisting that he meant she felt “very turned on” because of the passionate nature of the kiss.

There were other excruciatingly embarrassing moments for the footballer during his two-week trial. The length of his pubic hair became a core plank of the case when the schoolgirl said he was “completely shaven”, a claim denied by Johnson, who accused the girl of “just guessing”. Fellow Sunderland player Steven Fletcher was due to give evidence about Johnson’s pubic hair as a defence witness, but was later unwilling to do so, the court heard."

JFC, what the hell was Sunderland's management thinking, letting him play when they knew (and had all the evidence in front of them) that he was guilty?

I haven't thought about that. I'm still imagining the conversation between Johnson and Fletcher regarding the pubes.

In lighter news, Lovren returns and Moreno dropped for Flanagan. Really wish Brad Smith would get a run out:

Mignolet, Clyne, Touré, Lovren, Flanagan, Can, Henderson, Milner, Firmino, Lallana, Origi

Subs: Ward, Benteke, Coutinho, Moreno, Ibe, Allen, Skrtel

And West Ham strikes in the 6th minute against Spurs off a cheap corner.

It should be 2-0 West Ham, but Lloris saves the Spurs.

So far they are being run out of the building.

Liverpool have been immense. Scrapping away, winning loads of 50/50s and going after the ball when they lose it. Makes you wonder why they don't play like this more often.
