Zappe thought the Colts were offside and thus he had a free play.
According to our discussions over the years with CFB_rules, it should have been a neutral zone infraction, even though the defenders didn't cross the neutral zone. They flinched, which has been explained to us is enough for that to be a violation.

Have they seriously put out feelers to Tom? Bring him in and let him play and tutor some quarterbacks, whoever this year and, say, JJ McCarthy next. Michigan guy, Tom would like.

Defense, ok, running game (this game) ok. Passing game the shitiest of all shit shows. What is the root cause? This game was winnable by the play of the running game and the defense. Did last season and the O-line issues this season damage Mac’s mental game so much he just can’t function? Why was he decent (pro-bowl?!) his first season and has literally crumbled to where he is now?

I doubt it. One thing I've learned while in the military is that 99.9% of military personnel hate the Patriots.
I would argue that the mere opportunity to see an NFL game live there trascends individual team fandom.

Mac Jones was asked why the Patriots didn't go with a Hail Mary before halftime. He seemed to disagree with the call to throw short/quick. "No clue. I mean. There's 2 seconds left and it was ... we needed 60 yards. So I don't know."

Somehow the NFL will find a reason to take this away from them
BB violated NFL policy by taping the Patriots’ practices and then giving the film to other teams?

(Indecency policy?)

Patriots game thread I know, but what a first drive by the 49ers! Very competent players, of course, like night and day compared with anything either team showed In Frankfurt.

I was front and center to the 1990 1-15 Patriots, 0-8 at home, last year we had seasons tickets; this team is actually worse.

Quite a feat.

With whom? To trade we needed trade partners. And there’s very few trades that occur league wide. The NFL deadline ain’t like MLB at all.
Yeah I don’t know what people have historically seen from this league to suggest any kind of significant wheeling and dealing is even possible in the NFL. It just doesn’t happen.

Head: This is the best outcome

Heart: WTF?
This is perfect, and represents exactly where I'm at.
I've been kind of ambivalent with game outcomes over the last couple of weeks, but today I concluded that I want to see them play just well enough to lose at this point.

BTW I don't want to quit this game thread without saying, Rich Eisen is a really, really good announcer.
Did you see the first part of the game? He must have had a list in front of him of all the rotten offensive stats the Pats had accumulated so far this year and he came out with a new one after every play of the opening drive. Stuff like 0 touchdowns or maybe it was 0 points on all opening drives this year, bad third down conversion rate, low yards per play; he had a new one after every play. They were probably all true, but he doesn't need to hit what Patriots fans there were watching between the eyes with them right at the start of the game. Besides this I never thought he was very good with his monotonic delivery.

I’d never heard him announce prior to today, but love watching his show on YouTube. Imo he has some of the most rational takes of any media personality

That's not Eisen, that's the production crew. Eisen is just reading what they give him.

53 years of bitterness/sadness, and then ARodg gets hurt. Let him be.
