It's a pay link, but: http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/news/uk_news/article1684584.ece?CMP=OTH-gnws-standard-2016_04_02

A BRITISH doctor has been secretly filmed describing how he prescribed banned performance- enhancing drugs to 150 elite sportsmen, including Premier League footballers.

An investigation by The Sunday Times has found that Dr Mark Bonar charges sports stars thousands of pounds for illicit drug programmes.
The tl;dr version: Leicester, Arsenal, & Chelsea players named in doping scandal.

Twitter is, obviously, all over the place on this. It will be interesting to see how Leicester responds later today.

Football's drug testing is incredibly lax. It's the same with tennis. This has been happening for a long time and it was inevitable that one day a story will break. The money is too much.

Also factor in a nearly ten month season with often two games a week for the big clubs, and now even in the off season they are flying around the world to compete in newly invented competitions and exhibitions. It's pretty grueling.

I don't think most fans around the world really care. The allegations of doping towards the Lippi-era Juventus didn't get much traction in the media when that broke. This story will get some attention because it's being covered by the English media who remind me of the BBWAA in their ability to clutch at their pearls in aghast, but I still don't think it will stick around for long. Most fans intrinsically know that playing balls out for 12 months a year is impossible if you're not cooking with gas.The only situation that would get casual fans on their high horse is if the allegations go at Ronaldo or Messi because they are the biggest stars.
