Yeah, it's a minor concern, but LaVar seems to be making himself scarcer lately, and Lonzo is spreading his wings accordingly. I suspect the path for LaMelo will be significantly smoother now that Lonzo has cleared it (and the press have presumably learned their lesson about biting at every silly morsel Lavar throws out there).
As far as on court: I'm not 100% sold on LaMelo (concerned about his D and shooting), but the Warriors still need someone in the old Livingston/Iguodala role. Steph's ability to be elite on and off ball make him a good fit with that type of player. Plus he could spell Steph when he sits. And obviously, everyone fits with Klay.
Similarly, Lonzo looks like a nice fit with Jrue Holiday, whether on court with him or as a replacement.
Lonzo's an interesting player and developing nor at all how most people thought. The story was he'd actually have to be able to drive to the hoop for his skill set to work and that his 3 point shot might develop into something passable. He's shooting .370 on the year on 308 attempts. 40% over hist last 24 games. If he develops into an above average shooter from 3, it changes everything.
Throughout his career he's had a better 3 point % than corner 3 point % by a healthy margin too. That's weird, isn't it? Career .285 from the corners, .336 overall. This year, .370 vs .338. 23.1% of his attempts are from the corner.
Also can't wait until Towns returns. Trading 1 rotation player for 3 is huge, especially when all 3 can shoot. I'm an admitted Beasley fan boy though. Always wanted to find a way to get him and/or Monte Morris on the Celtics. I dunno how Denver always finds these guys. Not only that, they find them, trade them away and miss nothing because they have guys like Michael Porter in the wings.
edit: Now that I think about, Lonzo Ball is kind of in a dream scenario if he actually can hit 3 pointers at a decent clip. Zion, Ingram and Jrue hide his flaws. Celtics should bang the tires on Jaxson Hayes too. I don't see how he fits in with NO.
