Tickets are on sale now for the best baseball conference around. This year's seminar is being held at Boston University on August 22 and 23, and will feature Ben Cherington, an amazing scouting panel, Tom Tippett, a yet to be determined Kansas City Royals front office person, Wendy Thurm, demonstrations by Motus and Diamond Kinetics, scientists, doctors, sabermetricians, writers, and more. The list of presenters will be updated as more confirm, and we fully expect another big name or two, and hopefully some surprises.
This is not just a stat conference! We strive to show how cutting edge science is blended with advanced baseball statistics and traditional scouting in order to more accurately assess teams and players. We also have presentations on the business of baseball, and even the history of the sport. Our student abstract contributors have received praise from all, and many received job offers from MLB teams and/or stat companies based on their seminar research.
The past few seminars have sold out early, so if you want to attend this excellent event get your tickets soon. As always, every penny in ticket sales for this wonderful baseball weekend will be donated to the Jimmy Fund! Tickets are only $140 for the weekend, with student tickets at $65. A box lunch, which is surprisingly good, is also available for $10 a day.
Talk baseball in a cool, informal, atmosphere, where its not unusual to see an ex-MLB player, a scout, or a front office person holding court in the lobby, while helping cure cancer. If you're a baseball fan, I cannot imagine anything better.
