Two bad plays by Brown almost led to a poor ending to the half, but Miami missed a few open looks and the C's capitalized.

All in all that is a great, great offensive half from Celts- nothing really unsustainable (55%/38/85) and just tremendous passing and execution especially in second quarter.

Defense in second quarter pretty solid, really. Miami had some open looks but a lot of stuff we won't see regularly (Lowry!)

My halftime grades (not that you were asking)....

Offense: A
Defense: B
Coaching: A-

Felt like Miami shot as well as they can, and the Celtics are still up 9 at the half. Good sign.

The layup line surely can't last forever, but nor can Kyle f'in Lowry turning into mid 2010s Steph Curry.

If the Heat want to get into an open floor, offensive game with the Celtics then this will be a sweep

I just need the Heat to keep playing Lowry. A team worst -12 despite shooting 3-4 from 3-point range, hopefully they don't realize he is unplayable against the Cs until Game 6 or 7 like last year.

Heat 7 of 15 from 3 keeping them in it. That normalizes, C’s can run away. Defense has been real good.

Tatum has 18 and I'm not sure he's been in the top 2 for the Celts so far! Smart with the dimes and TimeLord on the Offensive boards might be my 1-2.

And PS: my YouTubeTV hasn't frozen but it has gone low-res a couple times to make me feel like I was watching the 86 Celtics on Cape Cod with our roof antenna and 27" RCA TV.

they don't have many other options, they literally have no other guards who can dribble on the bench with Herro hurt

Here
Crazy thing about Timelord is it still looks like he's rehabbing the knee back to normal, and his impact on the game is still so massive.

This feel a bit like last game in that Miami almost has to adjust to cut off our penetration and when they do it is going to be open season from three.

If you factor in defense, Tatum has been really good tonight. Flying around all over the place.

on the other hand, I wouldn't count on 11 to 5 turnover ratio in our favor, regular season both turned it over the exact same amount, but we were pretty bad at forcing opponent turnovers, while Miami was top 5.

Still, Celtics should be the better team, just need to take care of the ball and play decent defense, 2nd quarter was excellent

Reggie's right that it reminds a little of game 1 of the Sixers series. Cs not getting up threes and not quite getting separation. If Miami clamps down a little, things could tighten up. But the 2-pt shooting in the Sixers game was way more unsustainable, and Cs defense much better.
