I think it's more that the Celtics showed up with urgency tonight - especially on the defensive end. We need to hypnotize them to believe they're down 0-1 every game here on out

The slower pace hugely benefits their defensive rotations. Embiid is such a specific assignment with specific needs that it’s easier to shape the whole D around that.

They are also making a more concerted effort to not switch everything at all times if the screen is half-assed. So it’s a bit of both I think.

I really enjoyed the return of 2022 defense. If they get that, it almost doesn't matter if they execute well on offense becuase they have so much talent that end of the court.
