I love that Vancouver media/fans/whoever was bitching about the officiating before the series even started. They proceeded to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the power play.

This is going to be buried but why is Betteman the commissioner? I get Selig despite fan hate because the money trucks keep rolling in but the NHL is a mess. Does he have something on a majority of the owners?

What an incredible playoff ride. When they were down 0-2 in this series, people were saying no way Boston wins 4 out of 5. I (and others here) said, look, just focus on game 3. Win that, then move to game 4, and let's go from there.

Easy to say, harder to do. Really, though, when you look back on this series, this was as one-sided a 7-game series could possibly be. The Canucks "won" probably about 3-4 periods the entire series. The B's pounded them 4 games by an aggregate margin of +18. And in the 3 games they lost, one was in OT, one was in the last 18 seconds of regulation, and the other was lost with 15 minutes to go.

In every conceivable way, the Bruins outplayed the Canucks for the vast majority of this series. Make no mistake about it - they were, by a wide margin, the better team this series and deserved to win the Cup.

Well, he was David Stern's right hand guy at the NBA. Presumably the idea was that he would bring the NBA "formula" to the NHL. And he sort of did, they have a cap now.
