For out of area Celtics fans, there’s nothing like an amped Garden crowd when you are at a game. The first playoff game I attended, I got chills hearing Celtics fans cheering lustily when walking into the building.

The building seemed to be shaking last year in Game 7 against the Bucks, getting louder and louder every time Grant hit another three.

Three comments

1. That Bird guy was pretty good, huh?

2. Kevin McHale "doing great things when he's in there". He was the sixth man!

3. That was the game I had nightmares about for weeks. Dr. J was alone under the basket for a brief second until they closed in on him on the final play. Luckily, Bobby Jones didn't see him in time for them.

Win win win today if only for Brand Name to bring that Roger Angell-level discourse to the next round. LFG! Is it bad that I have a good feeling about this one, visions of sad, pissy -face Doc and Joel slouching off the court at the end?

Anyone know of a stream or a radio stream where I won’t need some kind of log in info? I will likely miss the first half driving home from Paris…

The Celtics are absolutely winning today on Mother's Day. My Mom passed away a few years ago. She LOVED basketball, and got me into it as a kid. Now, deciding green was my favorite color a couple of years prior to knowing what basketball was, when my Mom turned on the Celtics one Sunday at 8 years old, it was a lifelong contract signed immediately. It also didn't hurt that this was the dawn of the Bird era.

Over the years, we had our ups and downs, as kids and their Mom's do. One thing that remained a constant was catching the Celtics every once on awhile together. We moved to a different part of Coventry, RI at a higher elevation, which led to the exciting world of Boston UHF channels becoming available on the antenna including channel 56, which carried a ton of games.

I would make fun of Cousey's voice since he couldn't pronounce Rs, but she would always tell me stop making fun and actually listen to him. I took that to heart, and soon realized that he had a wealth of information and it made me a better basketball fan.

When I attended college, we would always have a Sunday afternoon phone call that usually focused on the Celtics. After I hung up, the guys in the dorm would say, "Was that your Dad?" And they'd be surprised when I told them "Nope, that was my Mom."

As the cruelty of Alzeimers started claiming her memories one of the last things she held onto was our Celtics history. I still miss calling her to bitch about the dumb decisions as well as the moments of brilliance.

There is no fucking way we are losing today.

Here
Hot take: Scott Foster is a good official and will call a pretty loose game which should benefit the Celtics.
Counterpoint - Heat/Knicks had 21 ft in the first quarter in Game 6, and the Heat were in the penalty 2 minutes into the 4th.

Let's Go! Win it for Nator's mother on Mother's Day.

I lost my step father to Alzheimer's. From 2000 - 2003, he and I watched every Sox game from when school ended until it began.

Morey is tryin to rat fuck the series, much like he did back in the 2018 west finals when he also leaked the report. Back then he added expected point values to each call and leaked that figure too.

Philly has the nicest panhandlers I’ve ever come across. But everyone and everything else there sucks so much

The more I think about it, the more I LOVE that the Sixers are bitching about the refs right now.

Means they’re not focused on the task at hand.

It means they’re worried they can’t win straight up.

Means they’re already looking for excuses.

As soon as Harden doesn’t get a call, he’s going to get upset… Embiid feels he’s fouled but doesn’t get the whistle, he’s gonna yell at the refs… but my money for biggest reaction is going to be Tucker, who gets T’ed up for arguing a call.

I was confident the Celtics would win after how Game 6.ended….that type of loss is hard to come back from.

Then I saw that Daryl Morey, I mean Woj tweet. This is a team headlines by whiny losers. There’s no way they have the fortitude to come out and win in this type of environment. Celtics roll

Great minds. I think there’s a reason why Doc Rivers teams tend to fold like cheap suits. Then you add in the Morey factor (another all time whiner) and I just don’t see it

If you showed the end of that game to someone who had never seen basketball before they’d be able to identify why and how the Celtics won. And it ain’t the refs.

“Who’s that guy? And why aren’t they… doing something about him?”
