I would NOT want to be a beat writer for the Celtics this year, but I must say I am always interested to see what Gary has to say in the Globe.  He writes well and he doesn't stick with the formulaic upbeat profiles of player X.  Today he wrote about a recent press conference with Danny Ainge in which he said that Danny implied that the lack of leadership from Rondo and Green contributed to his decisions to trade them.  Gary also said that the Celtics management is quite impressed with Marcus Smart in that department.  That's encouraging and something to keep an eye on.

Anyway, in our winter of Celtics despair it is nice to at least have a good writer to read.  It makes the season slightly less depressing.

He is also the one guy who kept LeBron from getting a unanimous MVP award because he voted for Melo.

Semi related bump, but who are some other good follows from a celtics perspective? I find that Speier and Edes pretty much cover my Sox itch (supplemented by Finn), but haven't really found something similar for the C's.
