May have missed something, but I can’t tell from the article: are those photos of WFT cheerleaders consensual? If not, this goes to an entire new level of trouble for both him and Allen.
He can’t come back from this. Especially with Nassib on the team. This confirms everything I thought about Gruden. He has no life outside of football and is so ignorant and narcissistic he can’t help himself.

IIRC, as part of the WFT cheerleader lawsuit, multiple cheerleaders stated they were asked to do things they weren’t comfortable with including posing nude or semi-nude during the calendar photo shoots. I have a hunch the shared photos are related to that. So no, they weren’t consensual.

I called this yesterday. Even knew he called goodell the f*g word, so I’m not surprised that this was the other shoe to drop that the league was holding on to. As a gay person, not surprised, but honestly it shouldn’t have even gotten to this. Once the comments about De Smith came out, he should have been gone. His willingness to dehumanize and objectify human beings should have immediately disqualified him from any position of leadership in the league or any of its franchises.
At this point it’s gotta just be the Raiders’ lawyers seeing if they have a clause that allows them to not pay out right?

The Raiders owe him a ton of money and if his lawyers did their job pre hiring legal activities won’t be a basis for termination, the Raiders have had trouble finding good coaches, he’s doing a decent job with the team (not great but decent), and I’ll bet firing a guy for not being “PC” won’t go over well with the fan base. The next time I see the NFL do the right thing in one of these cases will be the first time so im not holding my breath.

Yup. As much as I believe Gruden deserves whatever he has coming, it pisses me off that Goodell is going to get what he wants - and that is revenge, certainly not racial justice.

Honestly I'm more likely to buy the theory that the particular email was leaked at the time it was to help Smith keep his job in the vote a few days later. He's been good for the league because he's bad at his job, they don't want someone more aggressive in that role.

Might be worth accepting that, in this instance, Goodell is on the side of righteousness.
Oh, I'm fine with the outcome. But let's not pretend Goodell is a righteous man, in this or any other matter.
I don't think it detracts from Gruden's transgression to assert that he meant what he said and that's meaningfully different from someone who makes an innocent mistake. If anything, it puts a lantern on Gruden's action. I don't want to keep harping any further, I just want to defend myself against a "BS digression." You can PM me if you have a problem with that.

I’m not sure they sold out, seems a lot of people who know him were saying today they never saw any inkling of racist or other abhorrent behavior from him. That’s valid, and a big reason why this shit is still going on-assholes who feel the way gruden clearly does are very good at hiding their true feelings.
This stuff sucks. Not that it came out, but that it happened. The fact that anyone is surprised by the offensive actions or comments from someone who has spent a better part of their life in NFL locker rooms strikes me as odd. He's been part of the "boys club" for years. This was very likely rampant around the NFL 10-15 years ago. Does it make it better? Hell no. Could this start a flood of the old guard getting booted out of the NFL due to behavior like this? Unfortunately, probably not. Not unless they've crossed our clown-nosed commissioner.
