I'm in Florida sitting by my mom's hospital bed for the past 10 days and the Red Sox aren't doing much to help with distractions, so I'm looking to start one for myself.

Today is HoF announcement day, so let's have some fun. Make your predictions below for who gets in - 1st tie-breaker will be giving the percentage of the vote they receive, 2nd tie-breaker will be the time your vote is submitted.

Winner receives an autographed Dylan Cease ball that I won last year. I assume that as soon as I send this ball to the winner, the Red Sox will acquire him and he'll go on a HoF run himself.

Deadline: 5:50pm Eastern

My picks (not entered in the contest):
Beltre 97%
Mauer 80%
Helton 76%

Best to your mother. Been there myself with my father. Make sure to take care of yourself -- when my dad was in the hospital I couldn't keep track of my wallet, keys, or cell phone for a week, let alone manage many other things.

Anyway, I'll gamble on all 4 getting in. And if I win the Dylan Cease ball, happy to pass it along to the Jimmy Fund.

Beltre 98%
Mauer 78%
Helton 77%
Wagner 75%

@Yaz4Ever missed Beltre by 1.9%, Helton by 3.7%, and Mauer by 3.9% (total 9.5) - ineligible due to obvious steroid use

@wraymondo missed Beltre by 3.1%, Helton by 2.7%, and Mauer by 4.9% (total 10.7)

@ehaz wins (unless my math is bad) by having his ballot in before @manny who he tied. Congratulations!

Also, thank you all for the warm wishes about my mom. She had a decent day today. The bar has been low, but I'll take any positives.

I'm also very happy for all 3 inductees. Class acts and tremendous ballplayers.

As a proud University of Tennessee alumnus, I can't help but point out that Helton, a Knoxville TN, native was a two-sport star at UT. He started 3 games at QB before getting injured and losing the job to to his backup, some guy named Peyton Manning. He was a two-way player in baseball who still holds all time UT records in RBIs, ERA, and saves. My undergrad years overlapped his (and 27 thousand other people's) and I remember watching him play both football and baseball. An amazing athlete and by all accounts an all-around great guy.
