I will watch the NFL.  I also think that Roger Goodell is an excellent commissioner.  The game is in good hands and is more popular and profitable than ever.
Thanks for providing a shining moral compass. As long as an enterprise is profitable and popular, that really should trump everything. Good thinking, Ayn.

You know who else thought things were in good hands?

No boycott per se here, but I care a lot less.

Especially as an out of market fan, when the Pats weren't on locally I would curse the NFL's Stone Age digital policies and Direct TV and then hit a bar or get sleazy European pirate streams.

Now, well, I've got some leaves to rake and plants to trim.

Also not really watching random NFL games just because they're on anymore.

Do the people who voted "yes" boycott a lot of things?

It's noble to be willing to inconvenience yourself in an effort to make this troubled world a better place, but of all the issues that could rouse you from passivity to activism, this is a curious one to pick.

I can only speak for myself, but the handling of the Ray Rice attack put me over the top on the NFL.  I was able to rationalize the concussion issue ("the players know what they signed up for and are getting well paid for it"), but this on top of everything else is what pushed me to the edge.  I'm not going to watch football this weekend, and I'm not sure I'll watch the weekend after that, etc.

And no, I don't boycott a lot of things.  Just restaurants that treat me badly, dry cleaners that ruin clothes and don't apologize, things like that.

A lot depends how you define "boycott" here. I'm not boycotting the NFL in an active way with signs or phone calls or anything, but I am definitely having my own personal enthusiasm levels for the league crater lower than they've ever been since I started watching football as a kid and am cutting back on watching accordingly.

For some it's not so much a boycott as it is just avoiding that which makes them upset or angry. I don't watch Fox News; I don't listen to Boston sports radio; and now I'll only watch the Patriots and avoid other NFL games.

I agree.  With all the possible boycott targets available, not watching non-Patriot NFL games seems a bit weird.  Kind of like giving up swimming with great white sharks for Lent and thinking you're on the path to sainthood ....

I can understand why a fan who was already losing interest (or didn't watch much in the first place) would tune out entirely after this. But I wouldn't call that a "boycott," any more than I consider myself to be boycotting Chick-Fil-A -- I wouldn't eat there, but I only eat fast food a couple times a year anyway, so it's no real loss for them and no real inconvenience for me.

Have fun with that. Nine billion people in the world. Damned if I'm going to start limiting myself because of the actions of others.

So I guess you'd keep wearing your AH jersey because it's a comfortable fit.
