Keep in mind, you can use the teams that they used to be, so Jets 1.0 for the Coyotes (but not the Jets of today), the Nordiques for the Avalanche, etc.

You could put the Bruins on the Top and left, and Selke Winners on one of them, and I might max out at 3 per day.

I usually get between 5 and 7 on the hockey versions, unless it's one of the grids without awards or stats squares - those are much harder for me.

I suck with the CBJ. Missed the Ducks/Blue Jackets and Canucks/Blue Jackets squares.

7/9 414 rarity score...not my finest work

X JT Miller Henrik Sedin
X Kevin Shattenkirk Ryan Getzlaf
Artemi Panarin Patrick Kane Stan Mikita

Burned a miss with the Anaheim Ducks 100 point guy. Got cute at first and went with Paul Kariya...989 points. Ugh.

Don’t worry, I goofed up the CBJ/Anaheim square because I mixed up Boone Jenner and Sonny Milano

And who knew there were 2 Taylor Halls who played in the NHL?
I selected the wrong one last week when trying to play a quick game.

6/9, 379 today. Woof.

Whiffed completely on the Islanders but also burned a miss chosing O'Reilly as the Blues 50+ assist guy. His best year was...49.

Pat Maroon X Brayden Point
Jeff Petry X Kris Letang
Klim Kostin X Robert Thomas

Riler Sheahan was a complete "type ahead guess". Just started typing letters and picked a name off the list. Tried the same for the middle 3 and didn't go so well.

8/9 269 this morning.
Absolute embarassing miss on my part.

Scott Gomez Ben Chiarot Guy Lafleur
XXXX Anthony Duclair Teemu Selanne
Curtis Lazar Sam Bennett Jarome Iginla

Absolutely can't believe I couldn't pull Taylor Hall for Coyotes/Devils. Guessed Antoine Vermette.

7/9 today, but I cheated. I had a stack of hockey cards on my desk and got the bottom left two from the pile. But it was fun playing that way (forcing myself to look through the cards) so I may try that when I get stuck. Doesn't feel as bad as a quick google.

Holy shit 9/9 with a 37 score today. Helps to have remembered the 80s and playing SOM hockey all these years.

8/9 198 today...a little better but shame on me for missing a Bruin square.

Daniel Paille Josh Brown Gregory Campbell
XXX - Evegni Dadonov Brett Hull
Riley Sheahan Daniel Alfredsson Chris Osgood

Originally put Chuck Kobasew for Bruins/Sabres. My brain immediately went to Paille for that square and then I thought Kobasew was the one they traded to Buffalo for him and he'd be rarer but turns out they were separate deals. Tried to think of the most obscure Cup winner from 2011. Shane Hnidy is probably the guy, wasn't sure if he'd count because I don't think he played in the Finals.

McQuaid was 1% which is what I went with for the Cup winner. Also Anders Bjork was 5% for the Bruins/Sabres.

I missed the Sabres/Stars. Thought Corey Perry had a stink with the Sabres, but nope.

Anders Bjork - Peter Schaefer - Adam McQuaid
XXX - Jason Spezza - Joe Nieuwendyk
Thomas Vanek - Daniel Alfredsson - Kris Draper

Are folks doing puckdoku or immaculate grid hockey? Puckdoku was there first, but IG is integrated with hockey ref and the other games.

Mostly just IG from convenience with the others but if I have time for a second one I'll do puckdoku.

Edit: Whiffed on a STL goon on puckdoku today

I used to do Puckdoku, and I do like how it’s easier to see the possibilities after the fact in the same window you’re using to play, but IG makes it easy for both hockey and baseball. As for today, I had a pretty good day.

Jeff Jillson/Peter Schaeffer/Frank Brimsek
Steve Ott/Sergei Gonchar/Sergei Zubov

Really struggled with the Blackhawks/Flyers. Burned a miss on Max Domi for Chicago/Colorado. Thought Domi did a quick stint with the Avs.

Tough one today.

First time for me getting 9/9 (109) without doing some Wiki-peeking/validating.
The Chi-Phi box sat empty on my browser tab for several hours before the light bulb went off.
Lots of old school guys for sure.

Roenick - Saad - Hasek
D Sittler - W Clark - J Plante
Pronger - T Twist - G Hall

Lots of people playing these forget that Mats Sundin used to play for the Nordiques (and put up some monster seasons in the process)
