Called up or just activated?

Breslow is a veritable Richard the 3rd.

At this point I am assuming that Breslow either has cloaking technology or is a hypnotist....

Edit:  Also not sure bringing over another fat guy from SF is going to send the right message to Panda about the need to loose weight.

Breslow just pitched 3 hitless innings; at the rate he and the front office are going he's probably getting close to a multiyear extension.  Kidding aside, Ogando has been much worse.

Optioning Layne is ridiculous though.  He's been the most consistent reliever they have outside of Taz and Koji.   I have to wonder whether this drive to keep all available options almost to the exclusion of performance is part of this team's problem.   When you set up a culture where having success isn't rewarded and winning is secondary to other considerations, you get less success and a team that isn't focused on winning.

Not sure I understand. Layne has been quite good vs. LH. Assume this is simply based on needing a fresh arm, and they optioned Layne as opposed to losing Breslow?
Layne is a good LOOGY. But with so many starters going so few innings, he's not being used in that role. It's tough to have a specialist, even a good one, when you need so many outs from your bullpen.

OK, this guy is the going to be the closer the rest of the way. As he should be. The Sox have to play this at home before he enters the game. Tell me the crowd wouldn't go crazy and dance???

Expanded roster will fix this.
