So today is DeflateDumb D-Day. Hopefully we learn something, given that Federal Judges tend to get things done. And we might learn that Brady will be shelved for some time. So...here's your look at Garoppolo, using a trait-based approach favored by some NFL scouts and front offices: http://insidethepylon.com/nfl/teams-nfl/afc-east/new-england-patriots/2015/08/12/jimmy-garoppolo-a-trait-based-approach/

Thank you for this, great article.

/edit - Jesus man, the article was solid but you have created a linked encyclopedia.  The article was solid, but the links to the previous was a kick in the pants for me to finally dig deeper into ITP's other work and it's phenomenal.  Thank you and all that work on the site for this information, it's truly a step above everything else I've seen out there.  Congrats!

Not quite sure how to articulate exactly what I'm seeing but it appears that he's not always squaring up on his throws yet they still are ending up accurate. Maybe its just I'm used to Brady and his motion/mechanics/follow-through/something but it seems that Garoppolo leaves his upper body parallel to the line and muscles through with arm strength. Am I seeing things or does that make sense? If so is that good/bad/neither and if bad is it correctable?

It's actually pretty solid mechanically. It gets to using the upper body to generate torque, and "throwing with your chest." I actually wrote something about that recently: http://bit.ly/ASMTorque Brady does has more of a turn with his back shoulder as he comes through, but JG's solid mechanically.

Egads, what a miserable attempt at football analysis. I'll keep getting my football insight from ESPN.
