So, suspended game, I assume we continue with this thread for the 2:10 continuance tomorrow, then have a new thread for the 7:10 game. I hope to start the 7:10 gamethread. Otherwise the season continues to spiral down.
Maybe they are trying to give the MBTA more time to recover from the rainwater?
Why wasw the sun still shining. Everywhere else, it was a dark and stormy night...
I’ve got tickets for the now 7PM game with a group much older than 8 years old, a couple coming up from NY and I wondered the same thing. The tough part for us will be to thread the needle on arriving after the first game starts but before it ends to avoid some of the traffic clusterfuck.
We had to do that for the last doubleheader against NYY. Parked on Bay State Road around 415 for the 710 game and got an early dinner. I think the first game was in the 8th when we arrived, so some folks were already leaving. enough to get a few more open spaces, but not to create a nightmare or fill the local restaurants.
The MBTA and Fenway employees and the players. Starting at 2PM gives them plenty of time to finish a five inning game before emptying and refilling the park for the night game.
Seems right. But we are winning both games either way so it really doesn’t matter.
We got 4.8" rain out here in the CT. River Valley just in one afternoon yesterday. It looks so much uglier in a city.
I wonder who will be pitching the suspended game for both teams. Obviously Crawford and Senga will be out.
Based on seatgeek prices, people aren’t interested in making the commute and paying full for Saturday afternoon parking (when you can’t get free parking) for 60% of a game
Is there no pregame (mid game?) show for this? Just seeing Kenley drive around back bay now on NESN.
Seems a waste of resources to require a full production crew to do a pregame for a game that they already had a pregame for.

After an off day Monday, the Sox will have another bullpen game Tuesday against the Braves. Bello will pitch Wednesday and Crawford will start Friday’s series opener against the Giants in San Francisco. Paxton will again be ready to pitch Saturday night against the Giants.
