Norwith who the heck is that?
Crappy long reliever/swing starter type.

27 y/o. 5.54 ERA in 52 innings for Worcester. Only 30 strikeouts & a 1.635 WHIP.

He was going to start for Worcester tonight, so at least he stretched out & ready to pitch some innings if things get ugly I guess?

Story of our pitching staff this season. Built around middle long nameless disposable pitching. How many have come and gone this past week?

You guys will be excited to hear that Jake Faria has pitched 4 innings of scoreless relief for Worcester so far today with 6 strikeouts.

This seems to be a disaster mitigation strategy - getting you innings coverage in a loss. Or if you're on the good end of a blowout - maybe he steals an inning. But his stat line is awful. You're almost guaranteed runs if you plug him in. So there's no real wear-and-tear upside for the pitching staff if they're playing a competitive game.

Unless, as the tweets suggest, they think he's suddenly found the magic mix he's been missing since his AA campaign in 2021.

Game 99
On a wet Friday night, the game was suspended.
I truly feel bad for the fans who attended.
It was like Biblical rain that never ended.
We scored in the first then our lead was extended,
but, as skies turned darker, things quickly descended.
(Giving up Met homers is not recommended.)
Things resumed, but doomed by the efforts expended,
the Sox tried to come back but never transcended.
Our hitting and pitching never really blended,
leaving us lost and sad like we’d been unfriended.
Beating the Mets in game two sure would be splendid.
We’ve got the home field. Fenway must be defended.

This will be Keekay's fifth start in the last 10 games. That's hardly binkie material

I don’t see the logic of having your DH be the guy that still bats sub-Mendoza in late July

What happened? Alonso walked and then he was out. Picked off? (I wish that they'd show reviews of those things, b/c when they aren't talking about the game I mute it and then I'm lost.) Edit: see now he struck out. The gameview I use is slow tonight.
