I heard it on Sirius this morning on my way in as I don't listen to K&C.Wait until Super Bowl Media Day on Tuesday. Is this a distraction yet?
Entercom and WEEI Management needs to be the one responsible for the reasons you stated. Entercom knows what the WEEI newer playbook is, enables Minihane, encourages WWE style fights amongst their own and other media members, and has been rewarded with high ratings.Minihane needs to take part of the blame for this too. His antics are put up with and seemingly encouraged therefore Reimer does the same thing. That show is an absolute joke and actually disgusts me. Minihane and Callahan are worthless hacks who flame their audience for ratings.
I was listening at the same time. Rich said: “Sup Tom Brady?” Maybe an effective trade of Boomer (who you can tell can’t stand Fred and always seemed to enjoy his previous interviews with D&C more) for Brady could be in the works for next year.Same here, I've never heard of Reimer before this. Fred was talking about how someone went after Brady's kid this morning at around 8AM and how that's something you never do because they didn't sign up for this. I had no idea what he was talking about until I came into this thread.
Entercom and the Patriots just announced an extension of their deal, part of which is Brady's weekly appearance.I was listening at the same time. Rich said: “Sup Tom Brady?” Maybe an effective trade of Boomer (who you can tell can’t stand Fred and always seemed to enjoy his previous interviews with D&C more) for Brady could be in the works for next year.
Since Brady appears on WEEI as part of the station's "Patriots Monday/Patriots Friday" deal, which was just extended for "multiple years" last week, he's not going to be on any other station anytime soon. My guess is that without the deal between the team and the station, he wouldn't do any regular interviews.I was listening at the same time. Is it a part of Brady's Patriots contract or is it part of Entercom-Patriots deal? I can't see a part of his player contract requiring him to appear. If they offer Gronk up, the deal would probably be the same.Entercom and the Patriots just announced an extension of their deal, part of which is Brady's weekly appearance.

As noted above, this is a team deal, Brady's contract with the team requires that he participate. I'm sure this will all be worked out, but regardless he's not going to be appearing on 98.5 any time soon.
Edit: To be clear, I haven't listened to WEEI in years and would love to have Brady interviewed by T&R, but it's not going to happen while Brady is still employed by the Pats.
I'm speculating because obviously I've never seen Brady's contract, but I am guessing it is both. I know player contracts have certain media requirements for players, I am guessing Brady's requires him to participate in a weekly radio interview on a platform chosen by the Pats. Then when the Pats are shopping the "Patriots Monday" thing, they can do so with an exclusive 1:1 interview with Brady as part of the package. Is it a part of Brady's Patriots contract or is it part of Entercom-Patriots deal? Which makes the ad sales higher for that spot than anywhere else on the station. Regardless, this kind of situation that Reimer put them in would be grounds for Brady to not wish to appear. Maybe he goes on DHK instead.I'm speculating because obviously I've never seen Brady's contract, but I am guessing it is both. Whatever WEEI is paying for that, the knowledge that they are the only local media platform that gets Brady and Belichick 1:1 on a weekly basis is worth a lot.
I think this is accurate. I read about sports a lot. I listen to sports talk radio a lot. I rarely (anymore) listen to Boston sports radio. I rarely (anymore) read the Globe sports section or the Herald at all. We are in basically the best stretch of sports success any city has ever had and the local media is largely engaged in stupid nit-picking and personal attacks, and whatever "insights" they try to promote are usually poorly thought out and clearly promoting some agenda that is not based on actual facts. Miserable, joyless, and generally idiotic and to me uselessAgain. Boston Media is toxic.
The morning hosts in San Francisco are dumbfounded. “Tom is a god in New England, why would you go after him or his kids? “
They can’t comprehend it.
For how great a sports town it is, Boston is woefully underserved by its media landscape for the most part. There are the occasional bright lights like a Reiss and some others, but the rest are just horrible.
Same here. They bust each other's balls, but outside of seeming annoyed when Fred's late, I've never gotten the impression they dislike one another.Wait...Boomer can't stand Fred? I always thought they had great back and forth when the spoke. They can give each other crap and make the interview interesting. I didn't think Boomer actually didn't like him.
I don't get it either. People have been saying this since Boomer came on that he was just dying to get back to D&C/K&C. I think they have a great interview with Boomer every week.Same here. They bust each other's balls, but outside of seeming annoyed when Fred's late, I've never gotten the impression they dislike one another.
Obviously, this is just my own personal take based on my weekly listen of their interviews. "Can't stand" might be too strong, but there have been a number of times, IMO, where the Boomer interviews have gotten quite awkward. Either way, Boomer is and still will be a must listen for me, regardless of what station he's on going forward.Wait...Boomer can't stand Fred? I always thought they had great back and forth when the spoke. They can give each other crap and make the interview interesting. I didn't think Boomer actually didn't like him.
That's been the take on Felger and Mazz for weeks now, that it was an infomercial for TB12, and honestly I can understand why they think that .I spent a few hours in the car on Friday and made the mistake of listening to Glenn, Reimer and the utter nitwit Volin discuss all things Pats. Their collective judgment was that the entire Tom vs. Time series was an infomercial for TB12 and an attempt to rehabilitate Alex Guerrero.
As a counterpoint in how to discuss things, T&R were thinking that 'Tom vs. Time' was going to be a TB12 infomercial as well. Then they watched it. And now they admit that they were wrong, it hasn't been. That's been the take on Felger and Mazz for weeks now, that it was an infomercial for TB12, and honestly I can understand why they think that .
It's the other bullshit that Mazz has been peddling (Getting back at BB for whatever imagined reasons) that's turned me off lately.
This can't be emphasized enough. I moved to the metro NYC area in the late 90s and I couldn't get over how good WFAN was. Every time I'd visit home and put on EEI I'd be appalled at the toxic circus. For how great a sports town it is, Boston is woefully underserved by its media landscape for the most part. Wow, that audio is something else. Even when trying to be decent, Minihane comes off as an insufferable mix of asshole, suckup, and soulless drama queen. Here's a link to the radio interview with Tom this morning. You definitely can hear in his voice he's pretty pissed and trying to stay calm about it. Hanging up on them was stone cold awesome.

Exactly. If it was only about Tom's training and exclusively dedicated to his TB12 work, I could see the point. But the reality is that there have been other unrelated aspects thus far, such as the scenes in the car after losses, and it's impossible to discuss the uniqueness of Brady's success during what should be the twilight of his career without covering how he does it. The last episode showed him working out, and Alex Guerrero got some air time, but it also emphasized him pouring over hours of video at home, without TB12 facilities or Alex Guerrero in sight. As a counterpoint in how to discuss things, T&R were thinking that 'Tom vs. Time' was going to be a TB12 infomercial as well. Then they watched it. And now they admit that they were wrong, it hasn't been.
The morning show is touting this as the # 1 sports story in the country right now.Wait until Super Bowl Media Day on Tuesday. Is this a distraction yet?
“Time for our weekly conversation with Patriots QB, Brian Hoyer...”If Brady doesn't want to go on WEEI, Kraft will write them a check to cover the damages.
You mean like this guy does? You would think Jay Glazer would have more than 149 followers.
You would also think he would have a blue check mark.
He's doing it because he's contractually obligated to do so as the quarterback of the Patriots, not as some sort of favor to the station. I think absent that obligation, he wouldn't do any interviews of that type anywhere (as evidenced by the fact that he does not grant interviews otherwise). He'd only take interviews in which he could directly benefit, like to promote his book or the documentary series or some other branded item. And even those probably would never happen during the season like the WEEI interview does. He has Facebook and Twitter and Instagram to communicate to/with his fans if he so desires, he doesn't need a radio station.Tom Brady isn’t giving up the radio spot yet. It gives him a good platform to communicate to the fans and general public. He’s doing EEI a solid by appearing on their station, but let’s not pretend he’s doing it against his will or best interests. Today was Brady rightfully letting the station know that fucking with his family will lead to him dropping them.
In addition to WEEI, he does a weekly radio interview with Jim Gray on Westwood One during the season......I think absent that obligation, he wouldn't do any interviews of that type anywhere (as evidenced by the fact that he does not grant interviews otherwise).
Wouldn't shock me at all that that one is contractually obligated via the NFL's deal with Westwood One.In addition to WEEI, he does a weekly radio interview with Jim Gray on Westwood One......
Jim gray is his go-to media guy. I believe he feels he gets a fair shake from him. I think it’s very safe to say he wouldn’t do EEI if he wasn’t contracted to do so.In addition to WEEI, he does a weekly radio interview with Jim Gray on Westwood One......
Brady doesn't do these interviews because he values the platform to communicate with the fans and general public, he does them because there is a clause in his contract that says he has to. And that clause exists because WEEI pays money to the Patriots for the weekly interview.Tom Brady isn’t giving up the radio spot yet. It’s not. It’s his own deal.Wouldn't shock me at all that that one is contractually obligated via the NFL's deal with Westwood One.
Nobody is saying he's doing them against his will, but you said that he's doing WEEI a "solid" by doing these interviews. That is clearly not the case. The Pats package the Brady and Belichick interviews as part of what they sell to Entercom in the Patriots Monday package. The link is up thread, it just got renewed. It’s not. It’s his own deal.
You guys are jumping through hoops to convince yourself that Brady does these interviews against his will. He’s not Belichick, he’s fine with self promotion and celebrity.
No one is arguing that he's doing it against his will. My only point is that even if he's happy to talk to Minihane and Callahan (or whomever the Patriots ask him to appear with on WEEI), I don't think it's something he'd go out of his way to continue doing, on WEEI or elsewhere, if there was no contractual obligation to do it.It’s not. It’s his own deal.

Not as much as Reimer’s studio apartment.I'm curious as to how much of a meltdown mode WEEI is having right now. It has to be nuts.
So this is basically like 95% of threads on a message board? It's so much fun watching everyone argue like monkeys over a situation they have no fucking clue about with absolute certainty.
Likely the only one on this board that would have any clue is Chad Finn and maybe one or two others.
If not for basically calling Brady's kid a brat, I still don't know who Reimer is.
Who give's a fuck that he called Brady's kid a brat? Other than Mr. and Mrs. Brady and his family why do people even give a shit?
Was it stupid and uncalled for? Absolutely, but it's not like he stuck out his elbow intentionally because he was annoyed by her like other members of this board have said they've done.
As for whether or not Brady appears on Kirk and Callahan in the future... again... why does anyone give a fuck?

It's real easy to just not click on this thread if you don't think it's worthy of discussion. This dormant thread just ran several pages with this BS "story". And WEEI will be soooo happy if this gets national attention. Just ignore and move on. Minihan will be all over Miniham-apolis trying to peddle himself to national meida to explain the situation. Pathetic
