So what if it does?My fever dream has been to sweep BKN with Celtics fans taking over the place in a game 4 blowout and the BOS fans chanting “where is Kyrie?” <clap, clap, clap clap clap> for the whole fourth quarter while KI puts the finishing touches on a disappearing act to the tune of a 2-12 shooting night.
Does that make me greedy?
when KD asks out because he's had enough of Kyrie shenanigans that will be the finishing touchesSo what if it does?
Kyrie quit on the C’s at the end and expected to get respect having left town. Fuck him.
Nets will give Kyrie the max this summer to keep Durant happy.when KD asks out because he's had enough of Kyrie shenanigans that will be the finishing touches
I've been watching Stub Hub and Seat Geek. Prices have remained on the high side and the amount of inventory is relatively low.My fever dream has been to sweep BKN with Celtics fans taking over the place in a game 4 blowout and the BOS fans chanting “where is Kyrie?” <clap, clap, clap clap clap> for the whole fourth quarter while KI puts the finishing touches on a disappearing act to the tune of a 2-12 shooting night.

I agree, and to date there's not a lot of evidence KD is tired of Kyrie's act.Nets will give Kyrie the max this summer to keep Durant happy.
It’s a fools errand to predict anything that Kyrie or KD will do in the future.I agree, and to date there's not a lot of evidence KD is tired of Kyrie's act.
For me, Kyrie walking because he's not very accountable is definitely still on the table. And KD thinking "I don't want to end my career trying to get Kyrie and Ben Simmons to both be adults at the same time" and pushing his way out, or for some kind of Kyrie deal/exit, is on the table but less likely.
What I think is most likely is that KD will determine, maybe with some input from Kyrie, whether Nash is back or not. May not be fair, but expect that's the reality
If it becomes clear, for whatever reason, that Ben Simmons is done as a competitive player, KD probably asks out, and Brooklyn won't make a huge stink, since they could get a massive haul for him.I agree, and to date there's not a lot of evidence KD is tired of Kyrie's act.

FWIW, Allen wasn't EXACTLY a huge part of the Harden trade. The thing with Allen was that supposedly, the Nets front office wanted to keep DeAndre Jordan happy (as a way of keeping Durant/Kyrie happy since they are all buddies) and in order to clear time up for Jordan, they felt like they had to get rid of Allen, which is why he was given away for basically nothing. That Harden trade was so bad. This team looks a lot better with Jarret Allen.
well also because they were paying Jordan and he was the guy KD/Kyrie wanted, they knew they couldn't pay Allen. A lot of people thought that deal he got was an overpay, Nets wanted no part of $20M plus for him a year.FWIW, Allen wasn't EXACTLY a huge part of the Harden trade. Not even a pity mention for Steve Nash…says a lot thereView: https://twitter.com/ScottCacciola/status/1518776026305810433
Lol, Kyrie no-shows the last 3 games, then says he plans to re-sign but also promotes himself to co-gm and part-owner
If he wanted to be part of a great team he should have stayed in Boston, and been a great teammate.Oh ok…if only you had a chance to be surrounded by young talent…Also, seems he's blaming the GM LOL

Yeah Griffin, Aldridge, Dragic, and Drummond being free agents is in the "yay" column. That's a bonus.
Hmm. That sounds vaguely familiar…View: https://twitter.com/ScottCacciola/status/1518776026305810433

He's a top-10 player offensively. And his defense, while bad, isn't as bad as some of the other top scorers like Young, Lillard, Mitchell, or Booker. It's close in some cases, but he's miles better than Trae and maybe half as bad as Dame.I'm trying to be objective here. Kyrie's skills can be otherworldly, as that game 1 performance showed (and which I witnessed live). He has that championship with Cleveland where he hit the winning shot. He might be the best ballhandler in the history of the NBA (Isaiah Thomas (DET) is the only one I think may rival him). Yet, he really kind of sucked in the last 3 games of this series. He's a selfish person and a shitty teammate (quit on the celtics and took a "stand" against vaccinations and quit on Brooklyn in the process). He doesn't seem to care at all. Notwithstanding his brilliant skills, I don't really know how to characterize his NBA value at this point, but it's pretty fucking satisfying to see him get smoked by his ex-team that beat him by being a great team.
I actually think the Nets role players, particularly Curry and Brown, played pretty well throughout the series. Durant and Kyrie taking turns laying eggs was what sunk them. He's a top-10 player offensively. If that Nets team was actually built more like Milwaukee, this would have been a tougher series. Pretty much a jag team though, once you get past the big two. For all of the talk of Nash being outcoached (and I'm sure that he was), the tools in his toolbox were all pretty dull.
The Nets rotation and role players being nothing special is why we could make Durant and Kyrie look that bad, IMO. YMMV.I actually think the Nets role players, particularly Curry and Brown, played pretty well throughout the series. Durant and Kyrie taking turns laying eggs was what sunk them.
Is he actually a top-10 player offensively? He doesn't create for his teammates once he draws attention nearly as well as you'd want. He's obviously really really good on that end, but I've started to think that we overrate him due to Sick Handlez. He's a top-10 player offensively. We've now seen Kyrie, on good teams, be a complete non-factor in 2 of the last 3 postseasons he's been in.

The delivery is great: he really believes every word of what he says, in the moment.

Just for kicks, I took a spin over at r/GoNets. Kyrie is getting crucified overall, but people are going especially nuts over this comment.“We build…”
How about this, Kyrie? Shut up, show up, and let the actual team management figure out how to build it.
This guy hasn’t earned the right to talk like he controls everything. If I were a Nets fan…. Ugh.
The alternative is losing him for nothing, so yeah they really don't have a choice unless he wanted to leave and they could work out some sort of S+T somewhere. Are the Nets going to offer Kyrie the 5 year/247M contract he is eligible for once he declines his option?
Seems awfully rich for an oft injured 30 year old head case who never likes to play defense and sometimes doesn't like to play at all.
Are there other teams out there that even want him at close to that commitment?
I think it’s 50/50 at this point that BS never plays a game for the Nets. The alternative is losing him for nothing, so yeah they really don't have a choice unless he wanted to leave and they could work out some sort of S+T somewhere.
Obviously we clowned them this series, but a team that actually has Kyrie Simmons Durant and Harris for a full season is a favorite in the east next year.
He's due 110m over the next 3 years. No one is trading for that, .1% chance he's walking away from that.I think it’s 50/50 at this point that BS never plays a game for the Nets.
But for teams that don't traditionally draw free agents and seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time draft-wise (think Orlando and Sacramento), these type of trades are really their only road to an immediate infusion of talent. And it only takes one. There is a high likelihood that BS is a bridge too far, but it only takes one team to talk themselves into it. The sticking point will be what quality of player they would give up for Simmons. He's due 110m over the next 3 years. No one is trading for that, .1% chance he's walking away from that.
