Poor Castillo.

I don't think Trumbo is going to fair well in Seattle though

Castillo might be slotting in as the primary catcher in Arizona. I don't think this is so bad for him. If anything, this is a steep price to pay for Trumbo and Nuno. I guess Seattle is looking to replace Ackley?

Rosenthal claimed in his article on the trade that some baseball people think AZ got too little for Trumbo because power is so rare these days. That seems crazy to me.

Peguero has power. Maybe the Sox can trade him to Seattle, too?

He might be, I didn't consider that. I just felt bad that he's been traded twice in the span of a month.

AZ needed to clear out some of that OF space.
Yup. Lamb is coming back at some point and moving Trumbo helps free up space.

Seattle, where lower-middle-class power hitters go to serve out their careers.

Lloyd McClendon was named to the All Star game coaching staff, BUT will he still have a job at that time?  If the Mariners don't turn this around, the manager will be the first to go.

They've lost seven in a row at home, and some in incredible fashion. Last night, after Rodney served up a home run in a 0-0 game, Austin Jackson tripled to lead off the night and they failed to drive him in.

On Wednesday against the Yankees, they had bases loaded, one out and a 3-0 count trailing 3-1 in the game. Logan Morrison eventually struck out and the next guy grounded out.

The Mariners are a trainwreck of awful hitting, and timely bad pitching.
