As bad as Zappe is (which is pretty bad), he at least can step up in the pocket and doesn't automatically turtle at the slightest threat of pressure. And won't whine and blame his teammates.

He certainly won't endanger our pick status, and at least it will be a relief to not have to ever watch Mac Jones as a Patriots QB again (hopefully).

No passes, at least none beyond the line of scrimmage, seems like an obvious game plan.

That is the uniform Hugh Millen wore. These guys aren’t worthy.
Red uniforms, one of the worst teams in the league, horrific QB play, $25 tickets, it really is 1992 again. They should black it out to complete living in the area as a Pats fan.

I’m glad all those Pats fans who complained about being priced out and real fans can’t go anymore enjoy the game.

I’m worried I think they’re going to win today. Rain all day San Diego can’t stop the run at all. Could be a Buffalo game plan. Allen might be out which would be huge.

I am incapable of rooting for a loss. On some level I know what's best but...am I wrong? Am I alone?

The more losses the better. There is no point in winning another game this season. They need the highest pick possible.

Me three. If they put together the dink and dunk game plan and Zappe avoids the backbreaking pick, they can win this game like 16-13.

So 3 active QBs today with Cunningham? If so, not sure why they didn't do this a few games back when it was clear we were out of it to better see what we have in Z and Cunningham

Worried about a win as well. Chargers are the Chargers
It seemed during our dynasty that EVERYTIME we needed a Charger win to help us - rather it was for playoff seeding, tiebreak scenarios, eliminating a rival from playoff contention, etc., they would lose. EVERYTIME. I'm anticipating the same outcome here but for opposite reasons.

While we'd still be at 3rd in draft order at the end of the day with a win, we'd lose our 2 'GB' cushion & it would go down to 1. Also, NYG & CHI have byes.

If we lose, coupled with a CAR win (@ TB) & a ARI win (@ PIT, lol) we move up to #2, & it's only #2 because we lose tiebreaker for CAR (CHI pick) with SOS (.518 to .536).

I'm listening to the pregame - do not ever, ever have a drinking game where you drink every time Chris Gasper says 'standpoint'. Someone needs to talk to this dude.

Guys, guys, guys. Nothing to worry about. This is the 2023 Patriots. As my old coach used to say, anything they don't fuck up, they'll shit on.

The Chargers have got this.

You're not alone. Rooting for a loss and happy they lost are different things.

I am not going to actively root for them to fail, but I hope they do.

In other words, I'm not going to root for turnovers. But I won't be upset when they happen. In fact, I'll laugh as I have in previous games.

Look I love the pats. I was 11 when they won the snow bowl. BB and Tom were a huge part of my life for 20 years. But just logically what is the point of winning? I am rooting hard for the chargers. You have a chance to get a top QB why care about a 2-9 game. I will be extremely upset if they win.. This is coming from someone who hasn’t missed a game in 20 years.

I just hope they lose. That's different than "rooting hard for the chargers". I'll watch the game and not be the least bit upset when they screw up.

But I also won't be cheering for the other team. Even though I hope they win.

Herbert vs Pats: 0-2/50% completion/216 ypg/2TD/4INT Points for 24, Points against 72

This should be easy.

Also:

I'll be happy today if they win.

I'll be happy tomorrow if they lose.

Not that complicated.

Also again:

I do not care who the QB is, though Jones is particularly frustrating to me. I don't need to "learn more" about any of them. None of them better be starting next September.
