Sea Dogs won 2-0.This was yet another incorrect starter on the list (Walter started neither game for Worcester today...maybe he's coming up?). But Isaac Coffey started for Portland & pitched 6 scoreless innings, 3 hits, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts.

Some conflicting reports...Given that the letters in his name say otherwise, I'm leaning toward the broadcaster being wrong on this one.
https://bosoxinjection.com/posts/boston-red-sox-prospect-watch-marcelo-mayer-leads-pack-of-promotions-01h1yzp5wfk7/5Jhostynxon Garcia (pronounced Yos-TIN-son) was promoted to Single-A after Miguel Bleis landed on the IL.
Looks like he posted a correction lolOh my bad, I was assuming Hunter Noll was spelling his name correctly in that tweet.
I was at this game. Joely had zero command, and an ugly inning was saved by a hard-hit DP. Yorke came close on a drive to deep left center. Seemed like enough height and distance to have been a homer at Fenway. Coffee tops out at 91, but throws strikes. his delivery may be funky enough to become a BP arm, in a ROOGY-ish role. Guerrero is electric, and has a chance if he can command. He did in his inning last night. Mayer‘s ABs were not good. 2 Ks and 2 weak two-hoppers to 1B.Sea Dogs won 2-0.
Joely pitched the 7th & allowed a walk & a hit but no runs. Joely has been rehabbing so much this year that he has 8 minor league games to 5 major league games.
The recently demoted Taylor Broadway pitched a scoreless 8th with 2 hits & 2 strikeouts.
& Luis Guerrero got his 13th save by pitching the 9th, a 1-2-3 inning lowering his ERA to 1.19.

Portland only had 4 hits to go with 14 strikeouts, & Yorke/Mayer/Meidroth combined for 0-11 with 5 strikeouts (Yorke did at least have a walk).
Definitely enjoy the 1st person accounts & hope you/others keep them coming.I was at this game. Joely had zero command, and an ugly inning was saved by a hard-hit DP. Yorke came close on a drive to deep left center. Seemed like enough height and distance to have been a homer at Fenway. Sorry to have bothered mentioning him back on Tuesday. My biggest takeaway is that his name is apparently pronounced yo-STINK-sun. Johanfran's older brother.
Sorry to have bothered mentioning him back on Tuesday.
Back when you mentioned him I had no clue how to pronounce his name either lolAnd if someone was demoted, the FCL team could also have a Jhostynxon (Garcia). I'd love to see Boston announcers handling that one.
In my head, I'm referring to him as Trotnixon Garcia.Given that the letters in his name say otherwise, I'm leaning toward the broadcaster being wrong on this one.
So we have Starlyn Nunez, Daniel Nunez and Cristian Nunez? I wonder if any of them are related?Oops, missed Cristian Nunez in that, & that a bunch of the games have already happened lol
Cristian was signed for $20k out of LA Vega, DR in '21.
DSL Red won 9-5 today. Daniel Nunez pitched 3 scoreless with 4 walks & 5 strikeouts.
I like that and might do the same, though as a Replacements fan I might just call him Yo Stinson Garcia instead. In my head, I'm referring to him as Trotnixon Garcia.
This, but now with cooler visuals. Will try!
Drohan out of Futures Game, Guerrero in.

Gambrell did those things kinda! 5 innings, 2 runs, 6 hits, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts, ERA down to 4.04. Still probably mid.AA - Gambrell, from Benny trade fame, has done ok since being promoted to Portland (4.10 ERA). Needs to strikeout more people, walk less people, & get better stuff. He's 25 already. Could be an organization filler type guy.
Basically this, only in Tweet form.Gambrell did those things kinda! 5 innings, 2 runs, 6 hits, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts, ERA down to 4.04. Still probably mid.
Here's a Wikelman Tweet.Wikelman pitched 5.2, 0 runs, 1 hit, 3 walks, 10 strikeouts. He's been on quite a roll lately, too.
In his last 5 starts, 25.2 IP, 7 ER, 16 hits, 9 walks, 45 strikeouts, 2.45 ERA.
He allowed 5 runs & they lost 10-8...Ryan Fernandez is apparently fallible. Blew the save in the 9th for the WooSox, allowing 4 hits & 2 runs.
Walter pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief today, which is kind of interesting in terms of usage.
Package hit a 3-run homer with 2 outs in the 10th to give them an 8-5 lead. Mosqueda in to try to close the game out in the bottom of the 10th.
Agreed.I think they are going to need to swing some deals for MLB talent to simultaneously clear the Rule 5 crunch but on the other hand someone like Bonaci has very little chance of being claimed.
I also think it is much easier to hide a pitcher on an MLB roster than it is an overmatched position player.Agreed.
Just a bit scary having all this cool 20-21 y/o talent that's already eligible. Feels like non-competitive teams should take the chance to grab guys with high ceilings in that manner.
Like Perales & Wikelman both seem closer to the majors & higher ceiling than Noah Song, despite the age difference.
Thad Ward & his 6+ ERA for the Nationals, too.
It depends on if the overmatched position player has carrying skills like speed & defense, & how little you care about winning. But generally agree.I also think it is much easier to hide a pitcher on an MLB roster than it is an overmatched position player.
