In one of the comments from Deadspin, someone wrote this about Ken Griffey Sr.:

"Ken Sr. too - even though he wasn’t a HOFer, having your son enshrined with so many guys with whom you played: Bench, Perez, Morgan, Seaver, Winfield, Rickey, Goose, Phil Niekro, Bruce Sutter, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Barry Larkin,Randy Johnson (and hopefully Edgar Martinez and Omar Vizquel someday, too.)"

That's 14 HoFers (including his son) that Griffey Sr. played with and that's a lot. Who has more?

I was thinking maybe Yogi Berra but he only had 9, but that was all with one org. I imagine it would have to be a player like Griffey that played on a few different teams.

Before learning of the link moondog posted I figured a 30's/40's Yankee that played on other teams might beat it. Best I could find was Joe Gordon who also had 14 (not including himself). Not bad for 11 yrs in MLB.

Gaylord Perry had 17, not including himself (you can use the oracle function on b-ref for this).
Awww. That was no fun.

On a similar note, if Barry Bonds ever gets in and Jeff Kent does not, Bonds will have 0 HOF teammates, which is very rare if not unprecedented.
Omar Vizquel is a possibility too.

This is pretty shocking though and just goes to prove how Bonds (even before the juice) was just head and shoulders above everyone in his era (even Griffey).

Jamie Moyer has 11, plus Felix Hernandez, Tulo, Ryan Howard, Cliff Lee, ARod, Beltre, Utley, Ichiro!, Hamels, Clemens, Edgar, Mussina, Lee Smith, Sosa, Oswalt, Helton, Halladay and Giambi. He might be able to cobble together the record from that.

The Oracle is kind of cheating (and a dangerous rabbit hole when I've got lots of real work to do)...but I found a guy with 29. I won't say who just yet, let's see if anyone finds someone with more.

Deacon McGuire with 24 is the most I've found.

Julio Franco has 13, with more coming from Ivan Rodriguez, Jim Thome, some maybes like Jeff Kent, Omar Vizquel, and Billy Wagner, and then some asterisks like Pete Rose, Gary Sheffield and Sammy Sosa.

The Oracle is fun, and the limit of 700 players initially seemed too low. I started searching, kept getting 400-500 results, and realized that it probably wasn't. Then I searched for Rickey Henderson and hit the limit. :(

Dewey was probably my most efficient search. He only played with 267 guys but 12 were HoFers.

Jeff Kent should be a Hall of Famer, but I feel like that sentence is a very succinct explanation for why Barry Bonds does not have a World Series ring.

The man played in the postseason in seven different seasons, as well as playing for a 103-win team and a team that got into a wild card play-in game (the 1998 Giants). His best teammates were Kent and then....? Doug Drabek? Andy Van Slyke? Bobby Bo? Rich Aurilia? Will Clark was a great player but they were only teammates for one season.
