Everton looking lively early against Manchester Disappointing. Not a bad way to start the footy weekend.

I need to bail soon to head to a coaching licensing class. Let’s hope the interesting bits happen soon.

Definitely a penalty by the letter of the law, but man that’s a harsh result for a foul in that area.

Onana is such shit. Seems more worried about the cameras than making a safe and effective save.

Everton has scored 29 on an XG around 50 this season. I’m not sure I can remember a team statistically worse at finishing.
The Neal Maupay Effect.

I remembered he’s out on loan after making this joke, but I am now playing it like he leave a trail of xG underperformance in his wake.

What a clever finish by Mateta. So well done with no room to maneuver. Bad give away by Luton, tho.

Oh Eze almost with the half field chip, skimmed the top of the crossbar.

A friend is at his first ever EPL game today at Selhurst. He's with his two sons and a friend of his. I think they've had a pretty fun one to be at.

My man, I like you very much, you seem like a good dude, but I low key feel like you did me dirty by pulling me into the Eagles Nest

Hahahaha see above ^^^

The truth is though, unless you support one of a small handful of teams, you're going to be miserable 95% of the time. I think I used up my one shot last season for Union Berlin and I'm gonna pay for it now for decades.

But keep in mind where we found each other....

Villa/Spurs has been a bit of a disappointment from an entertainment point of view. Very cagey so far with lots of turnovers presenting lots of opportunities but nothing in the way of results. Villa look to have had the better of these so far.

A 3 on 1 isn’t something you see often.

VDV out with a knock.

Salah to the bench, but Szobo starts.

Konate out. VVD & Quansah will do their Batman & Boy Wonder routine.

Didn’t Endo get called for blocking from an offside position? I know the receiving player can’t be offsides so it could only be Ake blocking. Honest question.

If anything Mac Allister was pulling Ake away, even if it was possible for Ake to have been in an offside position wouldn't have mattered IMO

For those interested in the tactical side John Stones’ positioning is fucking wild. He has been stepping j to midfield for City for a while but usually with Dias as a Cb partner. Today he’s nominally the CCB and has less cover so he’s often the deepest defender but he and Rodri are trading off the position until established in possession

Was gonna say -- this feels like a 3ATB without any wingbacks for Pep, has been really effective in possession but still looks like there are some defensive kinks to work out (Bradley could easily have a goal and an assist at this point). Have to imagine Klopp has been taking notes given the way he's used Gomez the past month
