Yeah, relative to what other people are getting paid, the Lin contract seems like a steal to be honest.
Big Al Harrington!3 year / $30m deal for Harrington in Indiana according to Woj
So amazing that we acquired a still in prime KG for a player now confused for a guy who has for all intents and purposes been out of the league for 5 years. Point Danny.Big Al Harrington!
If Turner was never traded to Indiana he'd be getting this same deal. He's the same player he was in Philly.....it was jumping into the Pacer situation 50 games into the season that hurt him.Hahahahahahahaha. Coach Brad Stevens deserves half of that.
Oh well, good for him, seems like a nice guy.
Yeah but his lack of an outside shot is going to mess up the spacing that Portland works to get. I don't hate it from a depth standpoint and if anyone else can get maximum performance out of Turner, its Stotts. Still, that is a lot of money for someone who isn't a big and isn't very good at any one skill that is valuable in today's NBA.To that point, people also know what ET isn't. He can be the backup ballhandler and take pressure off Damian and CJ to create. A decent depth guy for PG and SF, perfect for an uptempo smallball lineup. He'll have good coaching, lowish expectations, and experience. 3 things he didn't have when he joined the Celtics.
Also, this:
Agreed with all of this except the bolded. He's shown quite good ball-handling skills in transition and traffic. That's a pretty important skill in the high-motion small-ball help-defense era.Yeah but his lack of an outside shot is going to mess up the spacing that Portland works to get. And the previous playoffs, when Delladova averaged 25 minutes per game for the Cavs? Burying a guy for a bad playoffs is a mistake, especially when so much of the game is matchups driven. Two Cleveland Cavaliers who couldn't sniff their playoff rotation when the games really mattered were just paid a combined $102m.
Silly season is an understatement.
Parsons to Memphis is sneaky good for the C's. Keeps them out of a full bottom five tank so they convey their pick to Denver next summer and start the two year clock on the Jeff Green pick, while clinging to an aging/injured core that could deteriorate at any moment.
He averaged 4 PPG last year.Solomon Hill to New Orleans for 4/52
And this is another strong signing in "The Year of the Swap", since it adds depth to a Pelicans squad that was right there with BKLYN for the 3/4/5 draft spot most of the season...Solomon Hill to New Orleans for 4/52
Don't discount his reputation. I wouldn't be surprised that there's a sense that he's been incredibly lucky being a dirty player behind LeBron, Kyrie, and Love. Off that stage, he could garner much more attention from refs and thus drive his own value down. And the previous playoffs, when Delladova averaged 25 minutes per game for the Cavs? Delladova is good. Lumping him in with Mozgov is weird to me. I'd love to have him on the Celtics, especially at that price. He plays reasonable defense at two positions, is a career 39% three point shooter, and can credibly handle the ball.
He knew it was happening though. He could have demanded a shorter deal or an opt out. Took the sure thing.I feel bad for Crowder. One year too early.
That's probably true. The best comp for him I can think of is Beverley, who likewise has a bit of a dirty player reputation. Both seem like very good players however.Don't discount his reputation. I put Beverly ahead of Delly by a country mile but I really dislike the way the latter plays his game, so I'm biased. That's probably true. The best comp for him I can think of is Beverley, who likewise has a bit of a dirty player reputation. Both seem like very good players however.
I don't lump him with Mozgov at all as he plays a position that has always carried tremendous value as evidenced by the contracts 7-foot rotation centers have received. I view Delly as a guy who greatly benefitted by having LeBron around as a point forward who will be greatly exposed without him in a somewhat similar way that I always felt Rondo would be exposed without Pierce and KG. To me he's a 10-12th man roster fodder. And the previous playoffs, when Delladova averaged 25 minutes per game for the Cavs? It's all going to come home to roost for the NFL.They don't follow baseball?
Also - the NFL's labor relations/salary/contract chickens are going to come home to roost soon, right?
Unless Millsap is out, you'd have to assume more. Howard and Horford are frontline big men who compete for the same minutes.I can't tell if this makes Horford to the Celtics more, or less likely.
Bomb!
Dwight to ATL for 3/70
Drop the max on Horford and bring him to the Hamptons.
The Hawks can't bring back Bazemore and Horford after signing Howard so I think it makes it more likely that Horford signs with Boston.I can't tell if this makes Horford to the Celtics more, or less likely.
