Exactly.I haven’t been this confident in my team since the 2007 Patriots
Hopefully this has a better ending.I haven’t been this confident in my team since the 2007 Patriots
Man, did you have to say that?I haven’t been this confident in my team since the 2007 Patriots
If their magic is an Illini disappearing act, mission accomplished thus far.More Illini fans than I assumed tbh
May the ghosts of Kendall Gill and Nick Anderson perform their magic
Probably zeroHow many times did 1999 Duke score less than 30 in a half? Asking for a friend.
This feels like it's going to age extremely poorly.I haven’t been this confident in my team since the 2007 Patriots
Feels like it is going to come down to which team can make some threes in the second half.UConn can be had today
Bill Murray approvedThat Clingan sequence goddamn. Perfect start for the UConn
Fuck him. I want guys that want to be hereHey Cooper Flagg—not too late to change your mind!
UConn happened to them.Stepped away at halftime and just looked in again. WTF happened to Illin?
It was 30-0, but who’s countingIf you take out the 25-0 run, it is a tie game.
I went and checked and you’re right, in that Duke actually had a higher average margin of victory enroute to the Final Four than UConn.UConn happened to them.
I’ll say this: 1999 Duke didn’t run through the tournament like UConn did last year and are this year.
Oh for fuck’s sake already. I was NOT comparing the 2024 UConn team to the 1999 Duke team head to head. My post was really clear about that. I was comparing the way that people spoke about them when talking about the tournament. They called the 1999 tournament the Duke invitational and they were asking if they could compete in the NBA. Same as UConn this year. I was actually making the fucking point to be skeptical about claims of invincibility. How many times did 1999 Duke score less than 30 in a half? Asking for a friend.
Love it!How ‘bout if you count the title game? Just asking for a friend.
I’m just needling you guysOh for fuck’s sake already. I was NOT comparing the 2024 UConn team to the 1999 Duke team head to head. My post was really clear about that. I am fine with the banter here however people enjoy it, but if this is meant to be a riff on my post it missed the point.
Did they ever have a tourney run where they won it all and beat every team by double digits? And then the next year go to the final four again beating top 25 teams by 30 points and again never winning by less than double digits?I went and checked and you’re right, in that Duke actually had a higher average margin of victory enroute to the Final Four than UConn.
They did win every game by 10+ in 2001. But of course they lost to Indiana in the Sweet 16 in 2002, blowing a 17 point lead.Did they ever have a tourney run where they won it all and beat every team by double digits? And then the next year go to the final four again beating top 25 teams by 30 points and again never winning by less than double digits?
