Won't it depend entirely on A) who the other home teams are and B) what the matchups are? Obviously a west coast team like Seattle or Arizona can't host 1pm Sunday but aside from that I don't see any other conflicts.

My guess would be that Divisional weekend would look like this. I'd think that NFC would have the Saturday night slot since AFC had it last year. I'd like to put both NFC games on Saturday so that Carolina/Atlanta would get buried in the first game but that can't happen.

Saturday
4:30 at Denver CBS
8:25 at Green Bay NBC

Sunday
1:00 at New England CBS
4:25 at Seattle FOX

I believe those networks get the games for Wild Card weekend not the divisional round.

You're both right. NBC and ESPN each have one wildcard game this year, NBC gets a divisional game, CBS loses a divisional game this year, Fox will lose one next year.

It's unusual on divisional weekend for the same network/conference to get both late games. If you get Saturday at 8 you're very likely also getting Sunday at 1p. Because CBS has only one game the likelihood is that they'll get the most desired window - Sunday 4:30 - leaving the NFC the Saturday night and Sunday 1pm games. Seattle can't play at 1p of course so that puts them on Saturday night with GB or DET hosting the 1p game.

If I were betting I'd bet on NE and SEA hosting the Saturday games, which isn't a bad thing. Gives the two #1 seeds an extra day prior to the conference championships should they win their divisionals. But a lot can change this Sunday so who knows.

Seattle played New Orleans in the early Saturday game last year, and if the Seahawks get the top seed and face Arizona/Carolina/Atlanta, I'd guess they'd be playing in that same slot. Not exactly a primetime matchup.

If Green Bay is hosting Dallas, that is going to be Sunday afternoon I'd think.

@MikeReiss: Bill Belichick says it is his understanding that the team will learn the date/time of its divisional-round game later tonight.

if Denver beats Oakland, schedule should be confirmed around 8:15. (Assuming none of the 4:25 games go to OT)

I've heard that the ESPN wild card game is Saturday at 4:30. That almost assuredly will be Arizona at Carolina.
That's prob Indy. Dallas should be at 8 since they're "America's Team" for primetime.

Possible lateness in scheduling hinges on huge difference in fandom between Pitt and Cincy. No one wants to carry Cincy v. Balt or Cincy v. Indy.

I think its because they're announcing it at halftime of the Pitt-Cincy game.

The best part about the Pats divisional game is that it'll be on NBC.  NBC is the only one of the three football networks (well, besides ESPN) who streams their broadcasts on the web.  For a cable-cord-cutter like myself, that means I can watch at home on good quality rather than on questionable internet streams, or being forced to go to a bar or friend's house.  Sweet.

i think all the playoff games are being streamed for free this year.

also, going to a bar or a friend's house sounds more fun than streaming the game to your laptop or however you do it. not to mention the added bonus of not being three plays behind the game itself. something video streaming still can't get right.

You can't pull them in OTA?

NFL GamePass (the international version of GameRewind) is pretty close to live. Can't be more than a few seconds Behind TV.

Vipbox is usually about 5-10 seconds behind TV, from what I've seen. Not enough to affect viewing.

NFL2Go.com is the one that's a couple plays behind, enough to make it annoying to follow while online with friends or a game thread.

and I would normally go to a friend's house or bar, but circumstances are such that I need to host that night. And now I can. But I didn't think that CBS or FOX had a streaming product - how exactly are the other non-NBC games being streamed?

I maybe could, but I'd need a tuner, they'd be regular def, etc. I use a chromecast, it's just easier.

they're being streamed on their internet websites for free.

cbs has theirs up now. not sure about fox. here's cbs: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/video/afc-playoffs

edit: fox sports go is apparently going to have the games up. you might need a subscription to authenticate. not sure.

why would it be regular def?  You don't have a HD TV?

I do, but I didn't think there were HD broadcasts over-the-air.  When I was subscribed to Aereo, that was all they had available I think.

Over the air is all HD, with no other options, for major networks. we use OTA for CBS and FOX all the time when we tailgate in Foxboro.

What do you need a tuner for? Every HDTV (at least everyone i've ever run into) can take an antenna input. Go buy a $19.99 antenna from Radio Shack. (if they still exist)

The picture is way better than cable to boot.

If you lived within an Aereo service area you should be able to get all the major networks in HD with any TV purchased in the last 10 years.

I've heard pretty good things about the Mohu Leaf antenna. You can also find plans to build your own if you need more gain.

It's a lesser known secret that you will get a better hd picture with antenna than with cable (ota is uncompressed)
