Theo wasn’t going to come back twice, especially when this NY team has a surplus of pitching vs a Yankee team that was spent by game four.

By the way, having lived in Chicago, Cubs fans suck. It just isn't remotely comparable to Boston. I have no - zero - sympathy.

Have to love Cubs fans, still cheering, clapping and waving those white towels; for them, it's all about going to Wrigley, wearing your Santo jersey, being shoehorned into seats that were designed for someone who is 5'7", 140 pounds, eating half a dozen Bratwursts, drinking one or ten 40 ounce beers and then going home and shitting your brains out.

2004 WS, right off the top.

Funny the things you forget: Example, the Red Sox made 8 errors over the course of those first two games

I literally do not want a single other team to come back from down 3-0. I want it to be forever associated with the 2004 Red Sox

Game 7 MFY pitchers: Kevin Brown, Javier Vasquez, Estaban Loiza, Felix Heredia, Tom Gordon and (for some inexplicable reason) Mariano Rivera for one batter

Indeed, and that yanks staff was extra crispy after two extra inning games...

Jesus my brain must have completely flushed Estaban Loiza down the ol' memory drain.

Who was injured?

Cespedes is out, Lagares is in CF... seems unlikely to be for defense this early, hopefully Cespedes just has a slight nagging thing that there's no point in pushing with a 6-0 lead

You got that right, Joe. As in: the series.

The Buster Posey commercial is actually pretty fucking funny
Well it was the first time. After 97 viewings it gets a bit stale.

from elias The Mets have not trailed at any time in any game in forging a three-games-to-none series lead. In big-league history, there have been only five best-of-seven series in which a team never trailed: four times in various World Series (Dodgers over Yankees, 1963; Orioles over Dodgers, 1966; As over Giants, 1989; Red Sox over Cards, 2004) and once in the ALCS (Tigers over Yanks, 2012).

Quick question: does anyone here know who the last team was to come back down 0-3 in an LCS? On my phone, don't have Google and I am dreadfully lazy...

You have to feel for Cubs fans.  This is awful.  And if they lose 19-8, there's no next game.

Except you have to think they knew at some level they weren't winning the series anyway

The first 600 times
At least it's amusing, unlike the billion Fan Duels/Draft King commercials you see everyone.

I mean, it's still overplayed but it's going to take a while before "You're embarrassing me in front of Buster Posey" gets old.

Maybe in some fringe sport like basketball or hockey, but this is MLB we're talking about.

I think they are thrilled to just be there and have a lot of hope for such a dynamic core. What they don't know is that Theo is about to sign Price to a 10 year, 355mm contract.

No, you don't. They simply aren't invested to the degree Sox fans were pre-2004. They just don't care that much. They go Wrigley to get wasted in the bleachers not because they care about winning

The crowd shots will be a fossil and his fossil wife dressed like the game is being played in Alaska, a wrecking ball or two with their hats on backwards, a younger guy with his glove in one hand and a pistol in the other, a middle aged dumpy housewife, a nerd with glasses and no Cubs gear on at all looking like he's at an insurance seminar and a young kid crying, showing us the curse of the billygoat spares no one in Cubstown.

Oh look! A Fanduel tie in! I hate it

If a Fan Duel tie-in got that graphic to my eyeballs every day for the rest of my life, I'd tattoo that stupid logo to my fucking forehead with a gas stove and a fountain pen.

It's game 4 and you want to finish this off, it's probably not slight

At least the Cubs will get one of these in their lockers after the game for showing up.  GJGE Cubs.

It's called an annihilation.

Only in six instances has a team been able to come back from being down 0–3 to win a series:
