I'm glad the rule exists bc 2004...but it's a dumb rule. Should be a judgment call by the umps. Guys typically score from first on a double

That's a good percentage of the personality of the place. Buy yeah, stupid rule.

That should absolutely be an umpire judgement call; if the center fielder has to go over to get it, there's no way the runner on base shouldn't be placed at home. What a joke.

I see Soler mans the outfield like a Cuban, wow what a bad play. Crock of shit for the run not to score, such an NFL rule

I guess it would be pretty poetic if the ivy helped the cubbies finally win a World Series

Why do I think that the umpires could award a run there based on where the runner was. Am I completely wrong about that?

It's a ground rule, similar to the catwalks in Tampa.  The umpires are bound to the ground rules of the ballpark no matter the circumstances.

I know it's asking a lot of the Senior Circuit, but the Cubs are going to have to get out the bats if they don't want to go down quietly in the series.

Kris Bryant reminds me of Soriano in the 2003 playoffs.  Very good hitter, but one who has a gaping hole in his swing that gets exposed by advanced scouting in the playoffs.

We'll see if said hole closes as he moves onto his sophomore year and beyond

Regardless of how this NLCS goes, Cubs' window of contention has opened up early with this season
