A former teammate who wished to remain anonymous told the Detroit Free Press “it’s just his time” and that he’s talked with Johnson about retirement.

Is it Something about Detroit that makes all time greats want to hang them up sooner than expected? Has he been talking to Barry Sanders recently?
Hey, they could have easily been 9-7 this year with competent officials. Now that's winning baby.
He has a TON of money coming to him next year, though. Going to be a close call because he isn't the same player he was two years ago, so I could see why he would want to hang it up. The NFL is rough. But 20 million is a lot.
What other explanation could there be, unless someone who hates the Lions is secretly a Death Eater using the Cruciatus curse on him?
If he gets it though. None of it is guaranteed and he counts for a $24 million cap hit. That's why there have been rumblings that he's going to get cut unless he accepts a restructure.
Why bother with the restructure? Get cut, take a one year deal with a Seattle or Denver or NE (pleasepleaseplease) and try to get that ring.
