Not for the people who already bought tickets for scheduled O's games in TB it wouldn't.

Yes, that would have inconvenienced all 10 of them. Meanwhile, Tampa gets 84 home games and the vendors at Camden lose 3 pay days.

Do concession workers get tipped? The vendors might, but are people tipping workers for pulling a hot dog out of dirty water and slapping it into a bun?
When I was a vendor at McCoy, ice cream bars cost a buck and cokes $1.50. You wanted to sell ice cream because they sold better and we were on commission (10%), but the upside of the cokes was much more tip because it was easy to say "keep the 50 cents".

The beer vendors in the stands get the most tips most likely. Losing the tips sucks but at least they are getting paid something.

I sold Coke at Fenway in the 90s, and it was all about commissions. Tips were a relatively small factor.

This was in the Harry M Stevens days (i.e., pre Aramark) so it may be very different now. It seems like there are way more vendors at the games these days.

Are you the one who used to scream "coke!" Like an angry person? We loved that guy.

Shouldn't it be on the company employing the concession workers to compensate them? It still sucks though.
All food, booze and merchandise vendors, for example, are technically employed by a contractor, Delaware North, and are therefore not eligible for the recompense offered by the O’s for the disappeared games.

Good luck getting a dime from the Jacobs family.

Ha. We were, of course, all yelling "Coke!" angrily due to the following:

- customers would complain on about half the transactions (these were the days when the Cokes were in flimsy paper cups covered with Saran Wrap that generally didn't hold the carbonation in)

- the price was something like $1.85 so the math was tricky (particularly when you were tired/hungover)

- fans were always asking stuff like, "could you send over the hot dog guy?" Yeah, buddy, instead of hustling around to sell my assigned product, I'm going to go hunt for the hot dog guy who I'm sure will do a special delivery for you. Oh wait, I'll do the hot dog bat signal for you

Half-kidding aside, it was actually an ok job. I've always loved being at the park, even under less than ideal circumstances
