Just saw this. So much promise.

Third active Cardinals player to die in the past 12 years (Darryl Kile, Josh Hancock).

Have they mentioned anything on the WS broadcast yet?

Fuck.  I've been following him fairly closely for a few years.   This is awful.  Just 22, and with a life most people would dream of ahead of him.

Fox better say something after the commercials
Can't imagine why they would do that.  Probably getting ultimate confirmation. No need to be "first". Plus they don't want to distract from the game.

Holy shit, that's incredibly sad. He was going to be a huge star, and so so young.

Sadly it's already been confirmed by the team itself and his agent

But it's important news. It makes them look worse to just ignore it

Ugh.  Awful.  The kid had a bright future.  Horrible.
Bright future is an understatement. I had the privledge of watching him down in Jupiter and I've never seen a guy like him. Had top shelf potential and I'm sure he would have made a tremendous impact in 2015. Just sad.

Not a word on TV. Only info I see is coming from twitter.   Maybe after the commercial break they'll mention it.

They have to be 100% sure before they mention it. Terrible news...

One of the more horrifying bleacher report updates I've ever received. Incredibly sad.

Spanish speaking ESPN crew just announced it in the WS broadcast. Ernesto Jerez is also from the Dominican Republic. Really really sad news.

Driving in the DR at night is a pretty terrifying experience even if you are familiar with the terrain. The wreckage looks brutal.

Geez, the front looks like crumpled up plastic. At least it was probably painless.

Stunning reminder of how fragile our own lives are. You can seemingly have the world at your fingertips one minute and the next minute it all changes. How heartbreaking and cruel for the two families foremost, and then for the Cardinals and all of baseball.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
