1. Tom Brady is what it looks like when an elite quarterback remains healthy into the late stages of his career.
2. Russel Wilson has proven he can win in many different ways, with many different types of personnel. He's a great leader, and the most consistent winner besides Brady since he entered the NFL.
3. Drew Brees - The Saints were stuck at 7-9 for three years before great drafts got them multiple starters including Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara. Turning 40 and heartbreaking postseason losses probably are the only reasons he isn't #2.
4. Aaron Rodgers has broken both collarbones, but the knee injury last year seemed much worse than reported. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and hope he stays away from more lower body/leg injuries. 35 years old, a rookie coach, and only one Super Bowl appearance. He has a lot left to prove.
5. Andrew Luck - 639 pass attempts, the shoulder looks good.
6. Pat Mahomes - 23 years old and coming off of a very consistent and most likely MVP season.
7. Jared Goff - MVP level start to this season, before fading in December.
8. Philip Rivers - Great season, but the playoffs showed what happens when their great defense or rushing attack fail to show up.
9. Ben Roethlisberger - Big Ben is in decline, and the other 2/3 of the triplets are all but gone from Pittsburgh.
10. Matt Ryan - Offensive Coordinator Turd Cutter returns to lead the most consistently average quarterback.
11. Matt Stafford - They need to find their own Turd Cutter to replace Cooter as offensive coordinator, so they can help Stafford finally reach his MVP potential (or get fired).
12. Cam Newton - Julius Pepper retired, Greg Olsen may retire, Thomas Davis was shown the door, and the owner hasn't ruled out Newton missing all of 2019. Hello Sunshine Lawrence!
Started this from a discussion in the Cowboys thread, and considering where Brady vs. Goff, and the uncertainty of Rodgers and other veterans rank among their peers right now. Add to this Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield, Carson Wentz, Dak Prescott, Mitch Trubisky, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, and Lamar Jackson as up and comers. Kirk Cousins, Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, Joe Flacco, Case Keenum, and...etc.
