I'll go with Sam Acho, OLB

Acho had a ton of production over the years and would have been very happy to have him on our roster. Nice pick and he's someone I thought could go much earlier.

This guy has had injury problems in the past, but when he plays he's a guy that requires WRs to keep their head on a swivel. Without a real 'tackle machine' yet on my team I think he fits well slotted in next to Byrd. Byrd can play the center field coverage game and Landry can come up into the box and hit anything that moves.

The San Francisco 49ers select; SS, LaRon Landry

If he can stay healthy I think he's great value at this point in the draft. One of the hardest hitters in the league and still only 28 years old. Pro Football Focus didn't love him last year, but most of his negative value came in the first couple of games of a new defense and a team that never really had it's heads on straight. The past few years, when he's played, have been all positive scores. He's not a totally liability in pass coverage either (with only four games in the red the past 3 years).  Let's cross our fingers and hope we get a healthy Landry for a few years crushing every one of your receivers.

Okay, let us shore up that secondary.

With pick 528 overall, the Redskins select:

Kerry Rhodes, FS

At 30, he's the oldest player we have selected.  But you want the QB of your defense, and your secondary, to have some experience.  Longest pass play he gave up last year was for 27 yards, and QBs had a 64.5 rating throwing at him.  We expect a few more solid years out of him.

PM off to RedOctober

Series of very savvy picks in Acho, Landry (suck it BB!), Rhodes (played every down for the Cards), and Wright.

Eric Wright is intriguing in that with all the success with the Browns also included a down year in his last, then a kick ass in his "prove-it" year with Lions, followed by all the drama with the cancelled guaranteed contracts with the Bucs. If the trend continues, he's making the Pro Bowl.

The Chiefs are looking to round out their front 4 on the defensive end and thus we will go with DT - Dwan Edwards

I am little surprised he has not been picked yet but it may be due to the fact tha the had a career year last year at the age of 31.  He had 6 sacks and quietly had a very good season for the Panthers.  He will round of the front of my 4-3 defense with JPP, Alualu and Everson Griffin.

I like my chances of tossing a bag of weed into your CB meeting room and dropping a dime to Mr. Goodell.

(in all seriousness, Wright's not a bad gamble at this point and I think Jenkins is one of the top ten CB in the league after next season)

Hoo-hoo-hoo hoosier land.
Bitter about Rhodes.  That was my next pick.

In any event, the Colts select CB Adam Jones.  He's a lunatic, but he was also one of the best corners in the league last year per PFF, and he's still relatively young, turning 30 in September.  His addition gives us three strong cover corners to go along one of the best safeties in the league.  We won't be anything special against the run, but we'll be tough against the pass.

The Bears select DT Sammie Lee Hill.

I need to start filling out my DL, and I'll buy low on a guy who was stuck behind a couple of high draft picks in Detroit, yet consistently contributed, particularly in the pass rush.  I'm not going to risk sitting on him any longer.

That is a FANTASTIC pick. Hill is the kind of guy who has excelled in Tennessee's defensive scheme and was impressive as a situational guy in Detroit. He's an excellent interior pass rush prospect this late in the draft.

255 374 CB Jimmy Smith BAL
256 299 DE/OLB Courtney Upshaw BAL
257 311 CB Vontae Davis IND
258 416 TE Jared Cook STL

Top 10 we took they haven't: Alex Smith (95), Jake Locker (106), Thomas DeCoud (121), Tyvon Branch (122), Nick Foles (132), Linval Joseph (138), Tyson Alualu (146), Eric Decker (147), Jurrell Casey (163), Brandon Spikes (170)

Before it seemed like the differences between the two drafts were position-based; they underrated LBs and RBs compared to us, while overrating CBs and LTs. Now the differences seem to be more evaluative; they like Christian Ponder more than Locker, for instance, while we felt the opposite.

Alright...

So...

Here's the thing...

We started out hot and heavy on our offensive line, but felt that there was enough depth at the interior positions that we could wait a few rounds. The waiting is over.

Fernando Velasco, C, Tennessee Titans

After being a part time player for the majority of his career, he was thrust into a starting role at center last year at 27 years old. How did he do? Well, he was one of only 4 centers to not allow a sack. The other 3?

Max Unger
Jonathan Goodwin
Stephen Wisniewski

Of those 4 players, only Wisniewski (8) gave up less QB pressures than Velasco (12). While PFF only grades him out as slightly above average against the pass, their signature stats gave him the 7th highest pass blocking efficiency in the NFL.They also grade him out as +8 against the run. While we're at it, I'd just like to point out that he only committed 1 penalty last year.

With Velasco in the fold, we have 4 very good pass blocking linemen and 3 very good linemen from the center out to the right tackle who are very good while run blocking. Additionally, Velasco has the ability to bounce to guard if needed, which isn't really the reason we drafted him, but it can't hurt.

Or how they somehow value Chris Johnson higher than Arian Foster? There was an over 300 pick difference in Foster's direction here. He was the slipper that really baffled me, relative to who was picked before him at the position.

Could be a scheme thing, too. Houston runs that zone blocking scheme that 1000-yard rushers out of Mike Anderson, Tatum Bell, Reuben Droughns, etc. They may feel like Foster is a good but not great back who plays in a system ideal for big RB numbers.

When I "CTRL+F" the picks sheet, I am surprised to see 6 instances of "vela" (didn't really process that being part of Cleveland) and only 3 of Velasco...he is missing in one of the charts, as each name, when "found" has 4 matches on the sheet.

And yes, it's amusing to see KFP make a smart value pick only to realize he's such a smart value pick because he was taken 3 rounds ago.

It's because he was inputted as a C, even though Mascho already has a center.

We'll slot Fernando at C and move Jones to RG for now.

Found this is mascho's writeup, chart has been updated.

No criticism of the sheet keepers - y'all have done a great job. Just another long winded post making fun of KFP.

My only request, if you're changing a players position please also put it in bold.

Not calling you out Mascho, the name was still on the chart in 3 spots and I'm sure you would have noticed it down the road, but it's easy to overlook these things especially when the chart gets a little behind.

Ok, lets try this again.

Chad Rinehart, Guard, San Diego Chargers

In Rinehart's first year as a starter last year in Buffalo, he played like one of the best guards in the game. He was one of only three guards who played 75% of snaps without giving up a sack (Evan Mathis and Brandon Moore  were the other two), and only gave up 10 QB hurries the entire year (second to Marshall Yanda).

Through his first 6 games of 2012, he picked things up where he left off in 2011. In 170 snaps, he only allowed 2 QB hurries through 6 games and, as the year prior, was on pace to grade out well above average as a run blocker. An ankle injury ultimately put him on IR, but the Chargers thought enough of his play (behind the backing of Rinehart's former positional coaches coaches, Joe D'Alessandris and Andrew Dees) to ink him to a contract this year. He's a bit of a gamble, but one we feel is worth taking.

So when is one of you guys going to break down and draft a QB? I'm surprised that nobody likes any one guy enough to take the plunge.

Truthfully? We have one guy in mind that we like, and we think he's pretty under the radar. As the draft gets further along though, and we get more anxious that someone may take him, we might pull the trigger sooner rather than later.

Very nice pick , he was very impressive in his limited duty with the Luins last season . Was planning on taking him to fill out my D-Line

Look we need (in no order) 3rd WR, TE, C, RB, Util, Slot CB, 8th guy for the front 7 and a Sam. Then we need a kicker and a punter. That's about it. Oh yeah then we'll draft b our qb

The Intercourse Panthers take Trumaine Johnson, CB, St. Louis Rams.  He will fill the third CB slot.

He played about one-third of the defensive snaps for St. Louis last year as a rookie.  11.3 coverage snaps per reception (good for top 30 in the league), passer rating against of 72.3, good for 22nd (this gives me 3 CBs in the top 25 by passer rating against). Going to be pretty hard to throw into our secondary when we have the nickle package out there.

Given his OUI over the weekend, we will be hiring a driver for him as well.

Also, Chris Faulk, RT, isnt showing up on the lineup chart.

With our 17th round pick, the Jnai Dolphins wanted to continue to stay young and add to our offensive line. While there were a few veteran options that were considered for this pick, this player made more sense for the way our team is put together. While he played C this past season in college, he's also able to slide over to either G spot, and we're going to put him at LG with the hope that he turns into our Logan Mankins. He can improve his technique in pass protection, but can hold his own in this respect on the inside and gives us another mauler in the run game.

The Jnai Dolphins are happy to welcome LG (and owner of one manly beard), Travis Frederick

Johnson and Reid back to back... ouch. I was hoping one of them would fall, although I didn't expect Reid to. Johnson has his off field issues but he had a really solid season for not playing much, 2 picks, 8 PD's and it doesn't hurt that he's 6'2" 200+ lbs.

I was surprised Reid was still available. His coverage skills aren't great but he hits like a frickin truck. He tends to be over aggressive, but I think at SS he'll be a monster against the run.

OK, catching up.

Stanford Routt, CB

Dwight Lowery, FS

I'm hoping Routt just had a down year, something was up and no one seems to know what.  Maybe he's cooked, but he's not that old and he was pretty good with the Raiders for many years.  Will pair well with Browner if he can get close to how he played with the Raiders.

Lowry wasn't great at CB with the Jets but started to come into his own with the Jags this year playing FS while fighting through injuries.  He has a similar skill set to McCourty, though nowhere near the talent.

Both picks are a little high risk, but that's what I'm going for at this point.  I'm clearly not as good at this as some others, so I've got to take some chances.
