Well he closed two of those in 2004 and 2008. That's pretty good.86spike said:This has all the signs of one of Theo's classic overly-complicated multi-team last minute trades that falls apart under its own weight followed by a shoulder shrugging press conference.

Even could use the word ecstatic that Duffy is working out so well so soon after Joe Panik did the same. What an infield they now have with those two added in with Crawford and Belt, and all home grown.Lars The Wanderer said:
Ha! I was just thinking this. Duffy has already been worth 3.2 WAR this year. I'd say they are pretty happy.
Koji and Owens-or-Johnson go to Chicago and the Red Sox get back Ross and Kimbrel?DrewDawg said:Okay, I know what the Sox want here---Ross/Kimbrel. Padres wants youth. Do we think the Cubs want Koji?
Was talking more about how the final couple hours have gone down. Talk that Bruce Gonzalez might not be dealt, this was also when Tomase said the 3 team deal was unlikely to happenE5 Yaz said:
The eleventyseven bazillion trades thus far not enough to amuse you?
Next time an exclamation point is enough for emphasis. (jk)Al Zarilla said:Even could use the word ecstatic about Duffy working out so well so soon after Joe Panik did the same. What an infield they now have with those two added in with Crawford and Belt, and all home grown.

Agreed...and I would gladly cough up Swihart for CC.ehaz said:I know they're selling high (if Cleveland is really shopping him), but the price must be enormous for Carrasco.

What about the report of us looking to move the unmovable in this deal?RedOctober3829 said:Koji and Owens-or-Johnson go to Chicago and the Red Sox get back Ross and Kimbrel?

Jay Bruce and Carlos Gonzalez

You really thought the Cubs preferred Koji over Kimbrel?RedSox040713 said:https://twitter.com/bnightengale/status/627179752244187136

Yes, Carasco seems to be the prize here. How would we rank the importance of these rumors?MillarTime said:Agreed...and I would gladly cough up Swihart for CC.

That would depend on the cost to acquire each.LuckyBen said:You really thought the Cubs preferred Koji over Kimbrel?
It depends on the cost though. They may want Kimbrel but don't want to give up the asking cost.LuckyBen said:You really thought the Cubs preferred Koji over Kimbrel?
FanSinceBoggs said:Yeah trading Bradley Jr. would make sense. The Red Sox did a nice job rebuilding his trade value but they've been hiding him in AAA as if they don't believe in him. They probably want to move him.
Watching MLB network, that ex-Rockies GM is pretty smart, not sure why things didn't work out for him with the Rockies, but then again buidling a winner in Colorado hasn't been easy. He is so much smarter than H.Reynolds and doesn't shy away from correcting Reynolds when he is wrong, which is often. He was the first one to argue that getting out of the Gomez deal was a good move by the Mets. I'm not sure why the other commentators couldn't figure that out.
That might be one-sided, that is, only the Red Sox are talking about it (thinking Sandoval specifically). The other 29 teams can't be that deaf, blind and stupid. Sandoval can't field or run well right now. Hell, he can't even stay on the field lately. Other teams don't see that?HomeRunBaker said:What about the report of us looking to move the unmovable in this deal?
I could absolutely see the Padres taking this risk. Between Norris, Gyorko, Solarte, and Amarista they have given over 1,000 ABs to hitters with an OPS under .700 this season.RedSox040713 said:https://twitter.com/iamjoonlee/status/627182302049796096
They shouldn't be eating Panda's celery at all. They should be eating his fried plantain and encouraging him to eat more celery.HomeRunBaker said:Yes, Carasco seems to be the prize here. How would we rank the importance of these rumors?
1. Cassasco
2. Trade Panda and eat some of his celery.
3. Kimbrel
4. Trade Koji for high end prospect
