A Scud Away from Hell
Even with all of the Pats' success since the SB 36 season, part of me still views them through the lens of a fan of the bumblers and near miss kings they were for so many years. Not that I haven't internalized that they are 4-time champs, etc. But it's impossible to completely forget what they were before 1994 and then 2001. They were the classic Charlie Brown team of the NFL...or at least one of them.

So when I read comments from the head coach of a division rival who has the Pats so thoroughly up his ass, and which drive home to the extent to which the Pats are THE team of this era, I still have to pinch myself sometimes. "He's talking about the Patriots. The freaking PATRIOTS!"

Reading Ryan try to disclaim his Patriots obsession is gold.
Same here. One of the reasons why the 15 years seems to have gone by so fast.

This is exactly the reason for the celebrating what is thread. I tend to put a disproportionate amount of focus on Ken Sims and Rich Camarillo, but really, the current edition of the Pats is probably what, like, the 49ers or Dolphins expected - an annual seat at the big table.

Collins healthy and fit for any important end of regular season games, playoff games and Super Bowl is what matters.
