Mike Gorman rattled Fred earlier this week. They were recapping last Friday's golf date and Mike described Fred as a "large man". The whole mood shifted as Fred started to pout. He's been extra self-conscious about his weight recently. He probably was on his therapist's couch before noon on that same day.

Haha see its really funny because he's a fat alcoholic who's been open about his mental health problems !!

Plus it all happened in the poster's head. I didn't pick up on that at all.
I agree. I thought it was more about his height than anything, I think he even mentioned that. Then Fred was joking about himself pretending that Mike was insulting him.

Yeah, I thought it was about Fred's height. Gorman's too polished to take a cheap shot at him during an interview.

Not sure what this means. Phil is one of the best analysts out there.
Agree and that's actually what I meant. Don't always listen live but I went back to listen to their pods for his hours…

edit: just to be clear I agree Phil excellent. Love his stuff with Cassell and the recent Scar interview was terrific.

Also, don’t look now but Wallach’s Bryant is currently beating ‘Cuse in the Dome. Sounds like there was a fight too. No idea if he’s still doing games now that he’s all big time with the Celtics.

Side note - I think I remember there being a big Bryant brawl last year too. Maybe Wallach is too nice for these guys.

Not sure if he’s still on the team, but Wallach was bullied into not supporting the overly cocky kid on Bryant last year. Wallach needed to lean into it and play the heel role.

I’m so proud of my young Jonathan, for what he lacks in on air talent he makes up for with mildly interesting tidbits he seems to have memorized prior to the show in order to avoid having nothing whatsoever to contribute

anywho, off to the Chang’s with Mark

The Joe Murray Food Drop Segment today was fantastic. I’m listening to it now on the train and can’t stop laughing.

Little more insight - he lost a bet on the US today so he’s spent all afternoon arguing with folks about them.
I don’t mind gambling talk when it’s projecting results. When done well, it can be a good starting point to talk about a game or player. However, people who cry about lost bets are equally bad as media personalities that cry about their fantasy teams - nobody cares (for the most part).

Totally agreed. However, with Dan it’s blatant what he’s doing. He gets salty after a loss then he just gets into Twitter wars with people because they’re not an expert and he is.

Finebaum interview was an all-timer, he was so great. Funny, humble, I really hope they can make this more of a regular thing. I know T&R aren't college sports guys but this was awesome.

whether it's true or not, in the 6AM hour Fred said his split with Stephanie is "95% amicable"

I hope that's the case. Really concerned how Fred would handle a bitter, ugly divorce

Sounded a couple weeks ago like there could have been some problems but it’s good to hear that things are not so bad

Didn't he get married fairly recently? Fred had hinted at it during a show and I was under the impression that it was a 90 Day Fiancee type of deal.
If I remember the story correctly, that is a now ex-wife of Crash's. This is a new love interest. I didn't listen when Crash was on the show, but seems like he was quite the character.

Crash was amazing on the show. Could take a lot of embarrassment and never shied away from telling stories about his life that the rest of us would be mortified to have come out. It’s not the same show without him

TFP is correct I believe. The last one was a 90 day fiancé situation. This new one Crash found like 3 days before Fred went down to Atlanta and Crash blew him off all weekend for his new love. He also was hinting on the show earlier there was one person he was dreading bring someone else, which I think was her.

I was catching up on the podcast from yesterday where they announced Crash was coming and replayed a clip from a Hooters years ago. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in a long time - dude was so drunk that he sounded like a real life version of Will Ferrell in Old School.

Oh man, it was so good. I forgot how hammered he got during that. I laughed out loud when he added "and Crash" when Rich said the show name.

Smitty, Smitty man, middle of the road.
