They dominated everything but the first 15 minutes. They’ve carried play all series, just have to stop the dumb fuckups and they’ve got it in 6 here.

Literally just play it away from pressure.
In overtime too. I mean, playoff overtime in a handshake game the rules are not fucking complicated.

No drop passes.
Always take the safe side of the ice for a clearance.
No puck on net is bad.

These have been the fucking rules forever and they always will be for a reason.

Fuck.

My lingering 1971 PTSD gave me a bad feeling about this game. Sudden death OT is only slightly less random than a fucking coin flip.

Could be one of the worst miscommunications in a crucial playoff moment in any professional sport I've seen. It was a fun, yet tense, game up to that point and I just hope it doesn't come back to haunt them beyond the significant negative affects of having to travel to Florida for at least one more game before the next round.

On the ice the Bruins dominated. But it seems like, except for game one, Ullmark has turned into the decent but not great goalie he’s basically always been, and not the superstar he was all season long.

This Panthers team can't fucking hang with the Bruins 5v5, and aside from a pants-shitting effort from the Bruins "PK specialist" tonight they can't hang on special teams either.

The Bruins beat themselves. Plain and simple.

His play on the last one was on him, but not in a making stops sense. He was hung out to dry or tipped on by his own team on the other 3. He's fine

I still can’t get over pasta. I’ve seen lost. I’ve seen possibly injured. I’ve seen low confidence. I’ve seen snake bitten. But never all simultaneously from such a great player

Im just assuming that this is who he is in the playoffs. Soft on the puck and incapable of creating and finishing at a high level.

I’m putting this one on Monty on three fronts:

-Forbort over Clifton. Or Zboril. Or Mike Reilly.
-Lauko/Foligno over Frederic. You put your most talented 12 out there.
-Yeah, Bergeron’s back in the lineup, but the line tinkering went too far, and it took them the better part of a period to get things back, and only once he put Bergeron and Marchand back together.

Literally yelled at my TV why in the fuck would you ever reverse the puck there given where the players were

I hate sports. Fucking hate them.
Our teams ranging from good to historically good for literally 20+ years now is obviously great but has made it impossible to avoid literally dozens of the kind of backbreaking losses that you still stress about a decade+ later.

So fucking annoying to be skating this team off the ice only to have that shit happen.

And I don’t know if Pasta needs a hypnotherapist or something but his precipitous drop in quality come playoff time is infuriating. Little Marchand (and yes I know his legs are tree trunks) is out there Hulking while Pasta treats the puck like a live grenade.

They played an excellent game with 2 Godawful giveaway goals sprinkled in. Can’t give away two goals. That’s it.

If anything is fucking up the mojo around here, it’s the continuous references to that series. This team isn’t closing down Daisy Buchanan’s, or the Branding Iron, or whatever gin mill they couldn’t stay out of on St. Catherine St that year.

The issue is we all know he'll keep Forbert in the lineup despite him being terrible in basically every game this series. It's mind boggling. I don't mind Lauko over Freddie. But Foligno has no buisness in the lineup

This, this, this and a thousand time this and I was endorsing the line-up stuff but goddamnit!

I'm sick to my stomach from this fucking game.

He is getting the shit beat out of him on every shift.
It doesn’t matter if he is or not—it’s that he is expecting it every time he touches the puck and it’s affecting his play. He was practically alone on goal at one point and passed it back to a covered teammate rather than shoot. He has zero confidence.

Agreed Monty got way too cute, why fix what wasn't broken for 82 games. Definitely cost 10mins of the first period where SOG were like 10-2 FL. In a game that goes to OT where you never have the lead those 10mins might have been useful.

Agreed. Too clever by half was the theme tonight.

Is there any chance the contract took an edge off? I mean even a small lack of focus or relaxing a bit might get magnified at this level where teams like the Panthers have another gear.

Monty was absolutely what this team needed this season. But we are gonna be fucking awful for a decade starting next year.

He was really good following it. He’s had playoff issues before, however…

This is practically a shot for shot replay of several playoff performances he has had in recent years. I don’t buy it.

Shit, we don’t even need him to elevate his game, just be like 75% of regular Pasta!

Sorry, I'm damaged. I'll shut up now. (But the penalty on Orr for closing his hand on the puck was bullshit.)
