Is this real? I have a hard time believing this. If Jones was worth a second and guy who had a chance to turn into something, why wouldn't Collins be worth more than a compensatory third?

I just updated the title to include Schefter because 1) he's the only one reporting this now, with others retweeting him or using him as their source, and; 2) this makes no sense whatsoever.

Yup, at this point a bunch of real Twitter accounts seem to be verifying this news. Everyone seems surprised, and thinks that this is a shockingly low return. Honestly, if not for the 'trust Bill to do what's right' instinct I have, this would seem like a terrible trade to me. Still kind of does, but... fuck, I don't know, maybe there is another shoe?

Not to mention he would still be worth a compensatory when he walked.
Plus how can CLE trade a compensatory they don't yet have?

Damn, not a fan of the trade, or the return. Can't believe they couldn't get at least a 2nd rounder.

Long term view, coming into the season they had to resign Hightower, Collins, Jones, Butler, Sheard, & Ryan. Now Collins is gone, Jones is gone, and Ryan is being demoted. Plenty of money to go around now.
