It was behind him but Thornton wasn’t ready for that either. Both of them can go.
Throw had to be behind him, because Jackson broke on the route (just like he did on Parker on the 1st drive). Some NFL receivers are even capable of capable of catching it.

A smart offense would call a pump slant and go over the top. Dude is jumping bad.

Pop Douglas could absolutely run that route and beat Jackson.

If they try that with Parker, Jackson could jump the first route, eat a sandwich and probably still get back into position on the double move.
