Look, even though I technically could do it, I'm not going to take Omar Vizquel.
Why not, I'm sure you extract that last bit of juice out of his bat

OK, insert this pick wherever you need.

I went with Torii Hunter as bench piece #1 (although I may find a way to fit him in the starting lineup) but for bench piece #2 I'll go all-glove, no hit.

2B Darwin Barney

The guy is a hideous hitter, no doubt about it, but he's one of the best defensive 2B's in the game. Figure with my offense but no defense lineup, I could use a guy like him in late innings or if I need to start him for awhile, I can hide him in the 9 spot and have him flash his GG type defense around. Makes the pitchers happy.

Alright, I'll PM the next guy if he hasn't been yet.

Hold on, he's got an 879 OPS in spring training, I may have tapped into something. Eureka!

Can someone take a proxy? Preferably someone who's not participating, but I will submit a one-name list (I assume I'm up whenever PW picks?) to someone who is.

Just to vouch for MakMan here - I sent him 2 players for my proxy in the 17th round. I ended up being able to make my pick for the 17th and 18th rounds - and ended up not taking either of the players I had sent to MakMan. And he hasn't taken them or given them away or anything.

Of course, it may just be because my picks suck. But, I'd trust him anyway.

The Roma Legio X select an actual Italian baseball player (sort of) Chris Colabello, BP2

This is a guy who I had totally heard of before this draft.  He doesn't bring much defensively, he's not young and he hit .194 last year at the major league level. So there's some downside here. On the other hand, he hit .352/.427/.639 in AAA and he's hitting .385/.500/.615 this spring. Before that he raked in independent leagues. I would think if he has any upside at all he's going to earn some playing time with the Twins, while I'll use him as the RH side at 1B with Carp and as a bat off the bench. Maybe he can Daubach his way into a little career for himself.

Drew Stubbs, BP (will platoon in CF with Gerardo Parra, pinch run, and serve as a late-inning defensive replacement).

EDIT: PM sent.

 You're better off. Believe me.
It could go either way honestly. I think Davis is going to be a fine relief pitcher though so I'm not too upset. Nice to see that I was justified in wanting Stubbs though

I guess? There are plenty of better options out there.

Really? Outside of guys in the minors, I didn't really see too many options left.

Don't think it's going to matter. You have to get a bat on the ball to hit it out.
He was aces against lefties. Ironically though, he had a higher ISO against righties. Listen, I like the pick. I think he'll be a good 4th OF. I think it's likely he also racks up more WAR next season than Davis but that's the nature of RPing.

You may be right. Don't be surprised if Stubbs puts up a 200/280/300 slash line though.

Alright, well I'm off to watch Norman and Norma Bates make creepy googley eyes at each other. If it gets back to RGB, I'll be on again at around 11.

The Riverbottom Nightmare select Daric Barton, BP

Because I have no idea how often Corey Hart can play...at night...with his sunglasses on.

Did not PM since it appears Galway has a proxy in Eck.

Another proxy pick I had to research to make sure he was actually eligible. Turns out, he is.

The Irish Wolfhounds select Devon Travis, BP

The Tigers #2 prospect according to BA who also happened to play in the AFL. The kid can hit. Through multiple levels he OPS'ed .902 with 18 HR's. He's got a great glove too. The 2B of the future for Detroit; he should fly up through the minors quickly.
