Point in Sweeney's favor for sure. Spooner should have a good year, and hopefully the shackles are now permanently off him.

Good deal for both sides.  AAV is reasonable for the B's and Spooner get's a short term prove it deal.

Was he really going to get much more?  I'm high on him, but the reality is that he has 56 career NHL games across 3 seasons.  What's the market on non-super-prospects with his numbers and promise?  I can't imagine it's all that high.

I'm pretty surprised he didn't crack $1 million, at least. My expectation was something like 2/2.5 million. Getting him for two years at under $1 million is a nice little bargain.
